@8cjh - good question. No idea. I haven’t heard a peep about this since last year when JD left, leadership played musical chairs, and all the outsourcing hit. I think a lot more people are now WFH (in my opinion).

I remember a year or 2 ago badge reports and VPN tracking was a huge topic on this site. I know VB addressed this last year and said she is not tracking VPN. I have not heard MK address this directly, unless I missed it. I have not heard anything all about badge reports. But does the leadership team of VB or MK still track either of these since it’s up to your manager/supervisor regarding WFH.

Wrong. MK went over this, in detail, in her very first Townhall, after her and CB swapped roles. This question has been answered over and over and over again, which is why MK and VB look so frustrated to hear it yet again.

Let this be your official notice. Your manager/supervisor dictates your ability to WFH. The End.

@4ing - as @1tlf pointed out - for MKs org it’s still not as crystal clear, as it seems to be for the VB org, as we don’t receive the same communications. Some of MKs 3, 4, 5 levels are still under the “CZ delusion” making it hard for their direct reports on a daily basis. MK doesn’t seems like she cares any longer as she knows WP2020 was a fail (not sure what changed her mind? But glad it did!), but obviously it’s not trickling down when this seems to be a trickle down type of company.

If you’re still asking what the WFH policy is, you haven’t been paying attention.

When Veronica was SVP of ATO, she made it very clear. The CZ initiative is over. You can now WFH just like before the entire collaboration zone fiasco. Once again, your manager dictates WFH policy. I’ve been back to WFH several days a week for almost a year now. How? Because I took notes from our SVP’s Townhall and addressed it with them directly.

When I hear this question asked over and over again, I cringe at just how ignorant some of you are. It’s almost like you want them to force you back into the office again.

"They keep dancing around the WFH",

I would agree that MK seemed to in her response to a question yesterday, but in her defense being articulate is not one of her best qualities.

VB on the other hand could not have been more clear in both her email and her answer yesterday. It seems to me that she really doesn't want to hear about it anymore and has empowered her supervisors and managers to make those decisions. Project Collababoration was essentially unofficially axed.

This was MK's baby, and she seemed to have no issue last year with the prospect of forcing people already working in a office, 100 miles to another office, simply because it was a bigger office... (even though no one in your work group worked there, in the name of "collaboration").

Made no sense then, makes no sense now, and I am glad some common sense was finally applied to the whole thing.

@1pnw - Remember, the numbers given were percentages, not total numbers. It's a spin comparison that really isn't useful and doesn't portray the true numbers picture.

30% of 10000 is 3000
30% of 10 is 3

3 != 3000

It's also a bit unfair of them to toss in what most likely was lvl3 and above leaving due to MVO, compared to most of us leaving due to layoffs. Just not the same thing. There's a big difference in impact and visibility, at least from our perspective in the trenches. Maybe it's the same to them from a $$$/benefits perspective, and maybe it is "just a business" and we shouldn't take it personally, but it most definitely does not change the reality of what's happening. sigh

Better delivery than Mair. Reality is still the same, no matter how much expense reduced, employees laid off, buildings & towers sold, revenue declined and 3 year forecast is anemic. We've beaten over the head to take cost out of the business, where is the revenue growth?

The house of mouse has +17% and +7% revenue growth for the last 2 years. Disney+ has 28.6M subs in 3 months. T has layers of management, great at cost cutting, lousy at revenue growth. You do the math.

Here’s the stats he gave on reductions:
Level 2 33%
Level 3 36%
Level 4 42%
Level 5 29%
Executive 52%

  • not sure where they came from though as I don’t know any level 3+ in my org that have taken MVO or surplussed.

I liked his candor and his overall demeanor. The guy was a Naval Officer and Navy Seal, and I respect that tremendously. I served alongside some Seals and they are the best and brightest of our military, and their mental toughness is beyond compare. I dare say the executives he serves alongside today would have rang the bell and been crying like schoolgirls on day one of Seal training (along with you negative Nellies that will down vote this).

I thought Sambar had a decent TH. Please remember, he is constrained. Not until Ratty, Stinky, Zucker and the Board of Mis-directors are pushed out will anything improve. Cut the head of the snake off!

Sambar was obviously chosen for his charm and charisma. He makes you want to believe him. Of course it would be a mistake to believe him but you want to. When he was telling us what the percentage of executives culled was, all I could think of was, I have 10 levels above me. Until they cull enough to decrease the levels I am not impressed. McSelfish has started a "communications channel" to communicate with his minions. He has asked people to send him questions. The one he needs to answer is this: "Could you describe what value each of your direct reports brings?" There is no way in hell 10 layers brings value proportionally to the exorbitant salaries these highly paid incompetents collect. AT&T is a way for cronies to thrive and send their spoiled children to Harvard. Yet another extraction of value from the 99.01 percent to their "betters". What a joke and it is appalling how many find guys like Sambar credible and decent.

@1osg+13tywOav Maybe you should have listened. He said if you don’t like your job, your co workers or pay that maybe you should look elsewhere. It is great advice. It has to really s— going through life with such a bad attitude.

Why even stress ones self out by listening? When your co workers are doing nothing while the call is going on, you do nothing as well.
When they go back to work, so do you. Why stress yourself out over folks who are incapable of telling the truth?
They don't care you have a mortgage.
They don't care you have bills to pay and kids to feed.
They don't care you need the insurance.
You can collaborate, kiss up, work for free, worry, fret, antagonize, skip lunch, by donuts....they laugh
They will screeew you 6 ways to Sunday to save their jobs.
Do the same.
Smile, wave.....and fly low.

He took the hard questions head on and gave honest answers. You didn’t have to like the answers but it was refreshing to see his openness to talking about the elephants in the room.

They keep dancing around the WFH. Sounds his leadership doesn’t mind but...when they leave it up to their direct reports it’s applied unevenly and unfairly.
But they “finally” admitted- these 2020 workspaces are not working out the way they’d hoped. People are hardly using them in my CZ - how about yours? When they had forced everyone in the last couple years - it got too loud and chaotic.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson provided an interesting tidbit during the company’s third quarter earnings call earlier this week when he mentioned that the company had hired Bill Morrow to be its special adviser and managing director of process service and cost optimization. In other words, Morrow is being hired by AT&T to be the company’s chief downsizer. During the call, Stephenson said that he expects Morrow to “examine and change our cost structure across the entire company.”
