Today Wells Fargo let go 700 employees in Manila that supported IT functions. Work place strategy being blamed and IT work being moved to India. Resources in US IT also received relocation notices.

I work with many in Manila and several projects - the folks were kind and polite - many of them were knowledgeable as well. This is a loss for WF
Did Manila not get until October like the US team members? That isn’t fair if that is the case!
Why there isn't any single TV channel or newspaper talking about this!!!. Did Wells Fargo bought them as well and kept them silent!!! .. These are 700 families who went home with lots of tears in their eyes. Don't they have some rights to AT LEAST be given 6 months if not 12 months grace period where they will have enough time to look for other jobs.

Yep, the folks in Manilla have been a great asset to Wells and have been a huge help to my team. This is a very bad idea.
Moving their roles to India is going to come back to haunt us. India staff have been hit and miss and have repeatedly caused issues, depending on who you're working with.
Wells has done this before, they did this a few years ago with an entire IT team and we're still paying the price today.
Top down management will be wrong most of the time, they only survive because the size of the company dilutes the damage they do, and their frat buddies provide them cover.
Throw in some good corp-speak like Saul's email today and there you go, they pat themselves on the back for making the "tough decisions".
When it should be a kick in the pants and shown the door for screwing up.

This is really upsettong wells fargo destrpyong 700 familes just for their own financial benefits. Typical american companies staff are just a number for them rather than an asset. The government should get involved to pressure the bank to stop this madness.

As a customer I am taking my money out of this bank. I only use American companies and ones with less criminal networks.
Are you talking about Manila in the Philippines? Otherwise what state is Manila in?
