Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

They're Calling Us Into the Office Now

Requests are going out for volunteers to go into the office three days a week.

The sites I'm aware of are Charlotte, Chandler, and Des Moines.

These are IT people.

Some of us were hired as telecommuters, adding an hour or two to my day to drive into work, gas, miles on the car, dry cleaning, lunches, etc., have not been included in my compensation.

I'm sure lots of people have day care, elder care, and other expenses piled on as well.

It appears that after all of our hopes that Saul would come to his senses, we're all going to be dragged back into the '90's and into an office.

I know lots of people who's lives are going to be upended, and I still have not heard a coherent reason why.

This is a ruse. The goal is to reduce headcount. "Agile" and "location strategy" is just a cover.

Did you read the supplement with your severance letter about us being unskilled labor? That exceptions were given to those with certain technology titles and skills. That we don't live in exiting markets. Now you know why Saul refused to tell us where the actual cities and offices were located; so we could not move there ahead of this. Did anyone else hear Saul talk about exceptions only to read your severance letter stating there would be no exceptions? He could have stopped this. My blood is boiling. They will recover in time but those of us that are SMEs being fired (let's call it what it is cuz we are not getting called back) will not be easy for them.

Is your "part time Agile" rant about the three day thing?

I don't think you need to all be holding hands five days a week to be Agile.

And I'm already sick of that word.

Maybe the relocation strategy is tied into some real estate holdings in Saul's investment portfolio. Is his wife a realtor?

Agile isn't a Volunteered business process. You are either Agile or you aren't. There is no such thing as "part time Agile". This is either a bogus post or a bogus strategy. Either way, it is all bogus until notifications go out and re-locations actually start to happen. This is officially the longest 1st Quarter in the history of the known and unknown Universe. Just get on with the announcement already. We are all tired of waiting...

THIS WILL TURN OUT NOT TO BE A VOLUNTEER ENDEAVOR

We must all do our part to contribute to global warming. Nothing like forcing everyone to drive in to the office to increase the Wells Fargo carbon footprint! We want to be number one! So why are we bothering with trivia like paper straws when our Agile goal is to force more tailpipe emissions?

I thought we were trying to be green, but it seems not with our new goals. Yes, we are going backwards.

Is it truly volunteer or 'VOLUNTEER' wink wink?

Time to get a new job and trash talk this place on the way out.

It's basically a Too Big To Fail criminal enterprise running on backwards tech, broken datacenters, and bad management.

There are lots of good people here, and for the most part my direct managers have been good.

But this is not the same place anymore.

I hope everything works out for everybody.

Peace.

And what if you refuse to come into the office? My commute is too long for me to come in a couple of days a week
