More secure and more rewarding. The stress and waiting for the axe had me drinking more, sleeping less, and just not feeling it. 16 years, some good, some bad, but the past 3-4 have been just no man's land with no progression or good feelings about the work and job. Once I was set up and ready to leave an enormous weight lifted and the sunny outlook has done wonders. Not looking back as I have too much time to run. I am free and will take flight. Like The Chief!!!

Thank you for posting. I have not been actively looking but did go on one interview a few months ago. I have worked at AT&T for 20 years, but the past 5 have been hell. I am burned out, hard time remembering things and have been told I am exhibiting behaviors of PTSD. I watched how people were scrambling to get into the 2020 safe jobs like cloud, only to watch them make it and then outsourced. I have made it through 6 or 7 waves of layoffs, and honestly am the last AT&T employee on my team left. Although the people were outsourced, the work load has not decreased. It was a hard lesson to watch how the corporation just chews up people. I get it, it's a job not a career any longer. You are paid to do a job, when they don't want you they cut you loose. But it s—s. I am only 46 and I know there are other opportunities available. And in fact, got an email today about the job I interviewed for a few months ago. They are offering me the job. I am still in shock, and a bit nervous. But once I get the offer letter in writing I will accept. Be good people, and I pray everyone finds a way out of the mess.
Agreed - Tired of being stolen from on ratings and raises. Tired of the lack of progression. Tired of the favoritism.
I agree, seems that I've been chased around for over 20 years, but the last 6-7 have been bad, with that last 2 being the worst. Nothing of real importance to work on, and seemingly impossible to find even busy work to pass the boredom. Just waiting to be surplused, which is actually the real bonus that I'm looking for at this point in my career to end it gracefully, then move on to a far brighter chapter in my life.
Congratulations I still cannot believe I have steady work and I pop out of bed to come into work. Like you the last three years at att for me we’re just as you described. I can actually live now and plan things like I am going to have a job in the future. I still have my ptsd att days where I look over my shoulder waiting for the other shoe to drop but they are getting fewer and fewer. Again congratulations and there is life after the cesspool they call att.
