Considering how easy it is to get laid off, I'm curious if it's now just as easy to get in.

The hiring process has gone down the toilet. They no longer d–g test, so you get former and active d–ggies that look and smell like it. Basically if you know how to bs your way through the generic phone interview, say a few choice key phrases while interviewing or know someone who knows someone you are in. Plus most new hires are babies that don’t care.
Prerequisites: 2 arms, 2 legs, 3 brain cells = you're hired!
In many areas, at operations level, the problem of under qualified 2nd, 3rd and VP level personnel still exists. Many Qualified candidates with undergrad an master degrees come to interview but no one here now is going to hire someone more qualified than themselves. There is a culture problem at Verizon that puts self preservation over company objectives and the future viability of the company and its ability to compete. It has been a problem on the legacy side for almost two decades now. Many of the old guard that instituted the hiring policies that promote the self preservation culture are still in place. It won't change.
What a stupid question. If you know there are constant layoffs why would you want to work here?
I miss the days of sleeping for hours on end in my truck, waking up and driving somewhere to get coffee.
Now everyone is lucky if they get 2 solid hours of sleep a day, and sometimes not even that!
Spring usually brings a lot of extra sleep, let’s keep our fingers crossed it does again and they offer a better package in June.
Stay Away. Working at Verizon is Toxic. Laying people off at will. Leaving Everyone in Tears
They will hire almost anyone
Well look at the talent they're attracting with no d–g tests and minimal experience. Next step is an area to smoke crack back by the smoking section
Run. It’s a horrible culture.
It's pretty easy now versus even 2+ years ago because I knew people that couldn't get an interview with a few years of experience and now a friend of mind got hired and some people in their training class don't even have call center experience
It use to be very comparative few years back. Now a days no one wants join Verizon. Number hr vs pay .. you may not make more than 25 $ .
