town halls are joke. nothing they say can be taken as fact. it is just a chance to how the vp's talk in front of a crowd. plain and simple. if you can get on a stage and be the court jester your place is safe.
These leaders may or may not be nice on a personal level. But, they are in place because they will fire people and out source jobs. Period. Don't pretend they are in place because of thier great leadership skills.
I like Mair, I think that he is doing the best he can with what he has been dealt, I think he's better than his predecessors, and he's a straight up honest guy that is also trying to walk the tightrope he has no choice to scale.
Scottie couldn't talk his "A-C-C" out of the bonus structure. Like his acronym throwing would mask his glaring incompetence.
Also, Can somebody tell that Jackson fella to Stfu?
Next year bonus is 20% ATO. Since ATO doesn't generate revenue, it is tied to how much cost can be cut out of the business.
Those of us employed through 2019 should get a bonus for the “savings” of those removed and replaced with h-1b’s. After all, those savings are the number one factor of what they are touting to Wall Street. Labor reduction cost is their number one goal, according to all communication to shareholders. Why are the goals tied to our bonuses any different?
I personally loved how the question about the bonus made him squirm. And the long spin that came afterwards was totally incoherent. All of the talk about how it would be better “next year” was a hoot. It’s the way accounting is done now. Get immediate quarterly results, all the while promising it will be normal later.
Instead of simplifying products and network, T should simplify the goals, so goals communicated to investors and employees are the same thing. Massive efficiency gain, consolidate press releases and transparency everywhere. Great job at leaving employee p-ss-d off after hearing all goals are met and bonus isn't 100%. Better yet, tell the investors and analysts that company only met 88% of its goals.
Realistically, everyone knows what's up. It's shameful for the 2 faced big shots trying to rationalize after the fact.
That was excruciating. I felt bad for those in the room that have to look interested and engaged while nodding to that nonsense.
It was painful- I agree with @drx - but also them trying to justify everything. It was at the of the ATO Ignite conference, for L3 and up, which is a yearly boondoggle in itself. Love to know what they really talk about in those. I loved the one question about what the change in training would be since their technology is being outsourced (so true!); of course they said they’d look into it.
wow, he's not a very good speaker
