Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Next Round for ATO is.....?

Anyone know when we see the next offer ? I have heard they have the numbers and there will not be another offer in MW ATO this year. I know a few people already saying they take the next offer and that hopefully opens spots for people that want to stay. Thanks my friends and never lose hope.

It is only Feb 5. It seems a little early to be saying no more cuts in MW ATO this year. Let’s see how the new video products are accepted in the mkt place.

CWA district 9 (California) was just told that 200 techs to be laid off on Valentines Day 2/14/2020.

Doubling up on rumors of Q3 seeing another 4-10% reduction. I heard the same thing.

Pressure on the old techs? Lol...Bring it on! We didn’t get to be old techs without seeing every tactic ole ATT has! We know how to play the game!!! I’ll stay as long as like!

Well, the annual report indicated a 6%-8% cut in technology costs (i.e. Labor). Go to webphone and count the number of employees under your VP. Do it again on 4/1/2020. If that number isn't 6%-8%, you will get another surplus in 2020. As far as an MVO is concerned, they won't need it. Enough people will leave for the HRA subsidy by EOY.

There is a issue that has been mentioned by upper management that they are laying off the younger guys who are a more nimble and aren't leaving soon. So pressure is being put on older techs to get them to leave the business voluntarily or more likely otherwise. As what happened during the last "Year of Discipline" it got out of hand and numerous law suits were brought up .....I t wasn't the validity of the Lawsuits , it was the number of them that raised red flags.

I've heard rumors of Q2 being quiet but layoffs resuming Q3. Personally I'm hoping for an MVO in Q4 and preparing accordingly.

I would just expect every quarter the leaders say no place is safe so I would just expect them. No getting around the leaders hate the expense of employees. Good luck!
