Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is this the plan?

Is this company using broken tech and confusing policies to coverup creating a toxic and stressful work environment? It would make sense to do this as a way to get employees to quit and avoid severance and potential bad press for eliminating positions for loyal employees. I don’t think they can get away with firing people for sales so this seems like a logical alternative. Seems like maybe we are Walmart trying to go online only like amazon to reduce the costs and burden of employees. I understand why they would want to go online but are we being transparent like we claim in how we’re going to get there? Is The plan to use CRV to open and service accounts even real or is that a front too?

I work for another big bank, in mortgage fulfillment and we recently had about 50+ people leave to work for wells. I could see this being the case with my company. Management hasnt been too concerned with the people that left. Im guessing this theory is part of the reason why. That and the move to offshore fulfillment.

Painful is an understatement!

Everyone stay on, ignore these threat from the nut jobs there. They have toxic culture with bloated processes. Not sure if it will ever get better, but i guess we will find out.

Is there a 2+ year severance?

It’s good legal training as well. Maybe some attorneys will rise from this to fight back

yea toxic and painful, although not enough to jump and give them what they want; this is a good training experience for mental strength without having to commit to a long career in the military. This is only short term pain, and when you leave you will be unstoppable.

I agree. It’s similar tricks to what I have seen for 20 years but now its internal deception.

The 5 layers of management are essential to keeping a barrier between their goals and what they tell employees. If they spoke directly to employees there would be no telephone game and they would be accountable

In my observation a big issue has been way too much overlapping management, decisions don’t get made and things don’t get done because there are too many people involved and needing to approve things that are not even important. Five approvals for an update deck, yeah.

Cut back on the excessive layers and numbers of managers, it would help a lot. The salesforce project has suffered from this, but also incompetent people.

That’s about accurate. I also have evidence that I will wait a week or two to post

Managers have been told for months to "let things remain painful" so team members quit (thus, saving the company severance and unemployment benefit costs).

Yes, you're assumption is correct.
