From now on who would want to sit in a collaboration zone surrounded with colleagues who might have or are carriers of COVID-19 ? Collaboration Zone is COVID-19 zone . You will gradually see companies around the world (hope AT&T would be the first) start re-building high wall cubicles like in the old days again .... Cannot wait to see that happen in the next few months .....

CZ may a–!!!! too worried abt loosing job so why show you sh–!!! i see ppl in my dept falling over themselves trying to make themselves look good and so far up bosses a– it aint funny, freaking disgusts me!!! info is not shared, its like pulling gdamn teeth, never saw anything like it!!! ppl ask me question, i help, i never did nor never will play that freaking game.
AT&T isn't known for leading in good or positive trends. Don't expect them to do anything to help employees that costs money or hurts profits

I think during flu seasons they should have a policy of working from home or practice social distancing. after all this, I don't think "open space" will work anymore. WeWork for sure should go bankrupt. that whole idea got decimated overnight!
COVID-19 survives in air for 3 hours, plenty of time to spread, high walls or not. They better reinstate work from home.
In nearly 25 years working for the Death Star, I've witness working out of high wall cubes and dry all offices. As the walls got shorter, people got closer and more exposed, and then finally the advent of the CZ, workers, including me, got more sick more frequently. It's an obvious and clear connection that germs get spread easier and end up on more commonly hightouch areas. So yes, it would be great to see the CA go way, and return to cubilism. I may actually go into the office if u had a real cube office to go work in. Otherwise, it's VPN from the home office.
If management were smart, they'd rethink the entire way we do business. Welcome to Workplace 2020, who knew it would take a virus to wake them up.

Either they are going to have to rethink these open plans/floors and/or just simply let us work from home.

—- so maybe he can ”lead by example” and “control on how we respond from here” on reversing the trend of these collaboration zones/open workspaces!

Use bleach on your wypall and clean all surfaces including restroom. No janitorial service as of 3/16/20. Wear a mask, rubber gloves and paper suit. Rubber boots optional. Report coughs to HR. Get to work.

my new gig doesn't use open work spaces - but yet we are working on cutting edge technology. go figure.
I hope they didn’t throw away the old cubes when they did demolition of those open workspaces because they’re going to have to reinstall them if/when people return. People are going to freak out sitting near anyone that coughs or sneezes anymore.
It’s going to take a LONG time for this stuff to go away. They should not let anyone sit in those open collaboration zones where you can reach out and touch the person across from and beside you. No way! I think this virus will change things we do for a long time to come.
