Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Dirty Money-Retention

With all the Covid-19 shutdowns and self quarantines, I started looking at a lot of Netflix. I just watched the first episode of the series Dirty Money which focused on the Wells Fargo scams and could not help but think they were talking about AT&T Residential Retention. Every single thing they talked about on how they “sold” to customers to increase “numbers” felt too familiar because it’s the same tactics practiced in Residential Retention. Pretty damn pathetic and all in the name of increasing stock prices and putting more money in the pockets of our company officers.

it's not T , lots of retail retention groups use the same playbook. Upsell, lost deactivations, bait and switch, teaser contracts, and of course false reporting by overbooking retentions or carry-forward etc.

But we're heading into the teeth of a pretty severe recession so these groups will even been under more pressure to make the numbers. It's kinda sad this is T playbook

I work for At&t and my brother works for Wells Fargo. I have not seen the Netflix thing. But we talk. Almost the very same culture. Numbers driven. Fake metrics. Fraudulent creation of accounts. Wells Fargo is the old AG Edwards. Family run. Hostile takeover by Wachovia with the usual rape and pillage/layoffs and then sold to Wells Fargo. Hah. Wells Fargo. a name that once had a sterling reputation. Just Like At&t.

My grandpa told me he saw the same topic on the Matlock series some time ago. Wow! History sure repeats itself.

I no longer work for at&t but watched this episode and had very similar thoughts. I was in retail and their practices were very similar.
