I could see them coming back after two weeks and changing hours 10-7 and closed Sunday. Then turning around and saying they gonna keep it that way helps reduce operating cost and will allow for reduced headcount.

”Does anyone else see this as the company testing out company wide reduced hours and closed Sunday as a nation wife test to see how it would work out?? Just food for thought“

This! A few months back our dm said if they were to ever cut back on hours it would be closing sundays. Highly doubt we will ever run 10-5 but can totally see closing sundays. Sundays tend to s— metric wise too

Yep, your absolutely right..... the stocks are tanking, most country's are on lockdown, the us will be next, 1000's of people are getting sick and dying. Stores are running out of everything. But Verizion reps ( store and call centers) just want 2 weeks time off because they are lazy, spoiled brats.

I’ll be honest, yes, a paid 2 weeks off would be great.. the past year has been pretty awful for everyone on the retail side. The time would be great to be away from the store and everyone have time to de-stress from Verizon. Yes, we have vacation time for a reason, but for all of us at once to be able to do this would calm us all down and we would all come back fresh and with a more positive outlook. Good luck to all that are open and have to work through what is about to come.

So instead of 2 customers a day, stores will get 1 customer a day. This pandemic is just another nail in the retail coffin. Retail is dead unless you are Costco, Walmart or Target.

By spoiled brats do you mean “employees?” So I hit it hard through this virus, work as many hours as possible... get promoted and the next epidemic I can stay home in pjs?

I say they say screw you spoiled brats and go back to full hours and make you fight for your target commission....

You wanna sit at home like your dm, your retail director, your market VP. How about you grind like they did to get to their positions. They were already a rep, they paid their dues. And they didn’t get there by complaining about store hours

To the employee below talking about happiness in this pandemic. Call your boss at home and ask him you want to help the front line in one of the stores that will be open 10am to 5 pm tommorow. You will be helping the general public with no gloves no masks with them wanting to touch their phone's! You will have to leave your house to do this! Let's see the happiness that will envelop you.

All you guys want to do is get off work for 2 weeks and sit at home and do absolutely nothing and get paid for it. It’s not even about the COVID-19. You just wanna be lazy and be paid for it

You guys will never be happy....

Even if they close all the stores, which they won’t, you still will find something to be ungrateful about

I know this will just help prove the less of a need for retail. However with the current situation can someone please help me think of a reason a store MUST be open. What would a customer need that can not be done by a call center, online or just wait. My iPhone 6 is not charging?!? My turbo 2 will not charge? I have a question about my bill.

Really?!? Nothing is so important that a store must be open?

The network is important. People will depend on it. Hands down that is important. Retail workers have nothing to do with that.

Hans, buddy? Think how much you will save by closing a store! Cut power cost to heat or cool the store. The cleaning cost (btw your BS about cleaning contactors doing more... It is not happening). Stop shipping the little of inventory you send to stores. The FedEx bill will be so low. Your liability insurance could get a temporary lower rate vs a higher rate for the risk you are taking about your employees and just wait till an infected person is linked to Verizon. How will your horrible marketing team spin that. Practice what you preach Hans! Be a socially responsible.

Verizon likes to copy apple all the time. Do it this time again.

Look at Europe this is going to get worse in the US. Leaders in Europe failed and now look. Oh that's right Verizon is run by Europeans.

The problem is that the American public, on the whole, will not and cannot stay at home! At the big Log location yesterday at about 2 pm we had people coming in to fill the store to about 20 customers and 10 employees. I looked around and said to myself what is happening, social contact happening ,stupid assh–les wanting to shake our hands, coming in too use that bill payment machine etc they will be lost today when they go to the door and they keep pulling the handle and it won't open even with a sign stating we're closed!

Plus closed stores will surely send the reps out to open stores causing an overload

Idk. I think the reduction in hours and closing Sunday is only going to exasperate things. There will be no social distance because more reps and managers will be working together instead of split shifts. The customers will clog the stores because of the consolidated hours...so more customers on the sales floor all at once.

Verizon just needs to shut them all down. Apple and not Nike has done it. Be a leader for once. Hans needs to act and not just run his mouth and have his puppets do the same. There is hardly any inventory to sell. Reducing hours at some stores by 2 hours ?!?! Really? It is going to be interesting to see how many stores stay open and why? My prediction is the national lockdown is coming soon. Hans for once in your life be a real leader and shut it down. Tim Cook has balls do you?

Crazy how all this is going on with COVID and all my Retail Director cares about is where she ranks in ARD.
