With all the BS last year about no WFH, collaboration, etc. which we all knew was meaningless & proved to fail miserably-I would hope that management rethinks the way we do business.
First off, I do feel bad for the techs & retail store employees who have to have customer contact. Be safe & smart!
The next few weeks will hopefully prove that our company can run just fine without people in offices. Less traffic on the roads, less fuel consumption, less money spent on heating, cooling, cleaning of buildings. Better balance of work & home life.
Yes, some will miss daily interaction with peers, chatting over coffee, etc. and some will struggle with learning to concentrate when your children or spouse are home, but this is the golden opportunity for the company to learn to trust their employees & realize BAU can continue. We’re a (partial now) communications company that touts ‘mobilty’ so let’s show them how effective WFH really is!

Senior management probably saw a bunch of WFH guys in line at Costco. Yeah working hard.
Love working from home now on my new gig because now I don’t use att services and my mobile phone now works in my basement office and my internet speed is faster for less money. Bye bye att
Senior management will never learn because they use the George w Bush model and never admit they made a mistake. They are smarter than everyone else and will remind you constantly of that fallacy.
"People who are dishonest & untrustworthy automatically project the same onto others." THIS is true. The worst T manager I ever had was caught using techs ID's and closing tickets. Was second line and demoted to first line. He is still violating COBC. I witnessed his cheating ways for myself. THIS is the guy that was constantly checking GPS and actually sneaking up on his techs. Always trying to find a reason to discipline his techs. I had to call in sick one day. Drove to corner 711 to get fluids and Tylenol. On my way back as I turned onto my street I saw him. He had driven by house.
I was in a meeting with Randy years ago & one of the others in the meeting asked him his position on WFH. Randy replied "sure you can work from home.....but I expect you in the office from 8 to 5".
People who are dishonest & untrustworthy automatically project tge same onto others. Because he & Stank intend to rob the company blind, they think everyone else is out to do the same.
I’m also wondering who will ever sit in the open workspace anymore since we know coronavirus can spread in less than 6 feet proximity!?!
If they’d quit letting our VP/AVP/Director make the WFH decision and make a blanket decision in the upper leadership it would help.
Once our org received the WFH email, they still acted like they didn’t want us to work from home, acting as if we were going to use it as vacation time. So the truth came out finally came out why they don’t want us to ever telecommute, it’s not because of “collaboration”, it’s due to lack of trust and control.

@ybo+13YBD50M you're dead wrong, my entire group is WTF and we work long hours, so don't generalize.
Would not have gotten rid of WFH if there was more work done and less doing personal errands.
Ratty and Stinky care not about how the corporation ruins, so long as they get their 10% and 30% "merit" increases and they can run to the bank before the checks don't clear.
We can all thank the wonderful POS JD (Donavan for those of you that don't remember) for the collaboration BS strategy. So glad he is gone. Now to just get rid of the Ratty and Stinky.
