Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Management tried to suppress it the day it was happening, but the news spread like wildfire. An email was sent out saying there was a lot of misinformation spreading. Typical.

About half of us in the US are going to be exposed and/or contract COVID19. There will be thousands, possibly hundreds of thousand of fatalities, due to how the virus is spread and how lethal it is to some groups.

It's here, there is no stopping it, it is not a liberal or conservative, it's not American or foreign, it's a virus.

They start in the east and migrate west every year. There is no plot against any particular politician contrary to what I've been hearing.

We've been expecting this since the Spanish Flu over 100 years ago. It's the reason we have the CDC and WHO.

In fact, thanks to the CDC and WHO, we've stopped many pandemics and many much more lethal viruses.

The only thing we can do, and this is critical, so slow the spread, aka "flatten the curve".

We need to do this so that we do not overload hospitals and medical staff, if we cannot treat people the fatality rates will rise.

And we do not want even more impact on our economy from people being off work, or not participating in our consumer driven economy by spending money.

So everyone in a building that was exposed should work from home for a few weeks.

America is trailing the rest of the world on this, and we do not have test kits widely available. We can debate the "why" on those issues, but since we cannot test many people now, staying away from each other is the best option.

And my goodness, stop hoarding TP, that's just weird.

I worked in many of those Wells Fargo and Bank of America high rise buildings in the city of Charlotte, in the past. How many employees who work on the 6th floor take the stairs each day to come and go from their office cubicle? Not many. So what does that mean here? Said potentially infected with corona virus employee in the One Wells Fargo building was taking the elevator up to their office on a daily basis with all of the other employees in the building. In very close proximity in the small elevator car. Therefore every employee working in that building in Charlotte, NC has potentially been exposed to the possibly ill with corona virus employee. Employees in the entire building should be requested to now telecommute as all have potentially been exposed to the corona virus working there. So much for elevator buddies.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Wells Fargo said it was notified on Wednesday that an employee who works on the 6th floor at One Wells Fargo in Charlotte has been in prolonged, close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee is at home while their health is being closely monitored.

"Our first priority remains keeping Wells Fargo employees and customers safe and well-informed. We performed enhanced cleaning at the location, and out of an abundance of caution, we have asked employees who have been in close proximity with this employee to work from home in accordance with public health guidance," Wells Fargo said on Thursday.

The situation is not impacting other Wells Fargo locations in Charlotte, bank officials said.

"We continue to follow all public health guidance, and we remain focused on meeting the needs of our customers while reducing the risk to our employees and customers," Wells Fargo said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Some workers at the Wells Fargo building in uptown Charlotte were asked to work from home after it was discovered one employee had “prolonged, close contact” with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, novel coronavirus.

Officials with the company say the employee who had the contact, who works on the 6th floor, is now at home and their health is being “closely monitored.”

The company sent WBTV a statement, which read that other employees who had contact with the employee in question are now working from home and the building has undergon “enhanced cleaning.”

The news comes shortly after health officials announced that two people in Mecklenburg County have tested positive for the coronavirus. At least one of the two people who tested positive is from Mecklenburg County, health officials say. The second person was tested in Mecklenburg County, but may not live in the county. The two are currently in isolation at home and an investigation is underway on the cases.

There is no word if the Wells Fargo incident is related to one of those two cases.
