For a company that says they care about the health of us and our families, they truly mean it! I mean, look at the social distance practices they enforce! Screw that! I'm FED UP.

I don’t have any words for that loungewear initiative memo. The logical contradiction of trying to drive people into the store to buy things they will need BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE AT HOME is insane. And the moral depravity of it is shocking.

But yeah, BE SAFE. God help us.

BPS is taking advantage of this pandemic by promoting their new "loungewear initiative" aka "capitalize on the american public in the middle of a pandemic because we care about sales than we do our own workers." Truly appalling.

FYI Telling ALL of you don’t show up that is why we we were furloughed. Take care of yourself and be responsible and respectful of everyone right now just call in and say you are staying home because of the virus they cannot run when no one will work. I wish you all all well and I pray none of you have been exposed and get sick but you see how this is going if you continue to work you will be exposed and get it because the same types of people that have the mentality that coming into a sporting goods store is important in a national health emergency instead of hunkering down at home is the right thing to do means they have risky behavior overall and have been acting like nothing is going on and been living life as normal and been less than 6 feet away from a countless number of people. The smart and safe thing to do is protect yourself and your family and stay home don’t go to work. Heed my advice this iis the only reason some stores are closed. The ones open is because they are getting enough employees to show. We didn’t and got furloughed. I have a great understanding manager so I am blessed. I consider myself working for him I don’t report to Johnny so I respect my manager and appreciate him he can’t help what Johnny does. He is treating us with respect and care. Everyone please take care of yourself and your loved ones. Be safe.

The pay cuts yesterday will effect hourly associates as well. No more annual pay merit increases. Risk from a virus in a NON-ESSENTIAL store and less money. Someone needs to organize a company wide walk out. If you get furloughed, you are one of the lucky ones! Furloughed employees will get Covid 19 pay, go on unemployment, and not have to be exposed to this virus. Everyone else will be stuck in the store with less money and will probably get Covid 19. The ONLY way they will close is if there are no associates left to work. WALKOUT

That memo!! What a joke. Jonny Morris and his greed !! Better get accustomed to parting with that money because just one employee get sick Johnny and you face a law suit for negligence. Working in unsafe conditions. Its unsanitary. Federal government advises to wear masks? To what point and purpose? To keep us from spreading what someone being irresponsible and coming in gives us then we take to our families? If an employee dies you can count on paying out a civil law suit for being at fault. Least of which paying medical bills if the employee recovers. Its only a matter of time before an employee tests positive and infects the rest of the store employees and customers for 10 days to 2 weeks they were asymptomatic. Learn science and epidemiology Johnny. It wilp happen the rate at which this is spreading. Those guns can’t k–l a virus you can’t see. You are an awful human person and now everyone knows.

For a company that touts it is for veterans, I just learned that when BPS, Bristol, TN started furloughing employees, the first two that were let go was a female Gulf War Army veteran and a 90 percent disabled USMC veteran. They were the only veterans in the TMBC department of the store. Nice way to look out for veterans Johnny.

I contacted Anderson Cooper by 2 methods . I told him what we all were going through and how unsafe conditions are for employees and for customers. Anderson would be all over this because it’s irresponsible and disrespectful of everyone. One of us tests positive then show customers guns ? Then they spread it to their kids etc . Law suits are waiting to happen. I have never in my life seen a more selfish greedy person that would put everyone in harms way and risk their business in the process. Law suits citing negligence are going to be filed when people’s medical bills pile up. Federal government isn’t paying them they won’t even provide equipment to save people’s lives its one excuse followed by another. Anderson already mentioned lines buying guns a couple times so he won’t mind making an example of Johnny Morris.

Why are some stores consider essential in Florida and some not. Sherriff's department wont do anything at all. Because they are saying they are essential in Tampa. What the hell is the difference.

Today we received notice from HR that all salaried managers are taking a 7%-15% reduction in pay until further notice. They are also no longer matching employee contributions to our 401k program. They are doing everything they can to stay afloat but those of us on the frontlines are going to be the ones affected most by a reduction in pay at a time like this. Not the folks who are making these decisions from up above.

Cabela’s was never open on Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas but Johnny Morris said “families need a place to go, a place to be together”! Hey Johnny, guess there’s no NASCAR for you this Easter like last year!! Actually he just wants more money to keep his kids happy, to build another runway at his local airport!! He is s miserable person, no I won’t call him a human being because he isn’t. And he can keep that lousy ham, you do know you’re taxed on it!!!

Johnny Morris i hope you choke on your Easter dinner, aa this could be our last Easter because you are subjecting every employee to a death sentence!! You are a worthless scum bag and I will pray that god forgives you for your lack of compassion.

Also we all signed agreement not to speak to the press or local or give any information out about the company. They will come after employees for telling the truth but we all know how much theft happens in these stores as well. They just keep stealing and if we say one harsh word fired!

Anyone tried to contact 60 minutes or 20/20?

I think his fate will show when they start closing stores completely. You cannot stay above the water when you have been dog paddling since the purchase of Cabela’s. Sadly enough 20 years ago we were Rock Solid. But this thing called greed will destroy this company. Should have kept them destination stores and you would be better off. Club is and will be the demise of this once wonderful place!

There has to be a better website to complain on. So more people read it. We need alot of customers to know what kind of company Basspro really is. They upcharge everything. Why the hell do you think we get such a big discount. It's not to benefit us. Most of their clothes you can buy at outlet stores cheaper. Saltlife outlet, And their clothes are so cheap made . We have to really think about hitting them were it really hurts. We are really smart people. We need to stick together and go after Johnny . One voice isnt enough. All voices together is what makes a difference. When someone sues they keep it quiet. They dont like bad media at all. We have to ruin Basspro name and integrity. 29

Has anyone went on their Facebook page and complain. Customers should complain. Bring there reviews down. Shame the company. Anything at this time.
Tampa is still open. Which is so stupid. The whole dam company is so dam greedy. Their pay s—s, no hours what else can you say. The whole dam company should go out of business. Hopefully the greedy b–tard gets the virus.

I can’t believe your selfishness Johnny Morris. You and your NRA buddies had needing guns during a national health emergency declared “ essential “ . You had health officials in MO to reverse decision and let you open back up after they closed you down and make them look wrong when you know damn well a gun isn’t needed in this situation matter of fact with who you cater to add stress of being hold up at home without an outlet and your selling guns are an irresponsible choice one a person with no conscience makes. Karma is coming for you for sure putting thousands of employees through this because I promise you this has changed the world and your buddies in the NRA can’t look after you forever the political tide will change and your making things hard making a spectacle of yourself wanting special permission and be out for yourself will be remembered and trust me you won’t have made a lasting impression where it counts. Doing the right responsible thing at least gains you respect from both sides. When I came to work here I actually had a great view of you and this company and was proud to work for you . They say critical times and crisis brings out who people really are and proves their character. There is no mistaking you are only about greed not for the common person like us that won’t have the money to pay health care bills by getting sick like you will but I’ll place bets you aren’t in front of the public face to face in your stores putting yourself in danger. This isn’t a joke people don’t have immunity to this and people are getting really sick and dying those that get it most will lose 25-30% of their lung function. Yet you are subjecting people putting them at risk for something you wouldn’t do yourself. MO officials told you that you had a couple of days to adjust your store so that you could only open and sell guns and ammo only. You shouldn’t open back up after the embarrassment of greed you made by them closing you down. Its better to get along not to push your objective when you are wrong. These people are about what is for the public’s health you are not. You don’t care about your employees that push and sell your card. You won’t recover from this because you have shown us all your greed. Karma is coming and you are an old man if I were you I would be scared because your time is not far off and with this virus karma may find you soon since you feel we all should get continuously exposed and give it to others and someone die from spreading it around. When you get to hell maybe the devil will say “ Here’s Johnny “. 🤡

We are still asked to promote Club card, which requires extended face-face contact. Although not overrun, people still come in and wander around like they’re at Disney. They’ll pick up product, study it for a bit and put it back before going on to the next item. No plexi barriers between cashiers and shoppers. Same situation at hunting, fishing and marine department counters. A person’s true character comes out when the c-ap hits the fan. Shame on Johnny Morris! Beginning of the end for Basspro.

We still must go to work. There is no furlough pay for stores that are still open. If we decide to be safe and stay home we are required to use sick or/ and vacation pay. There is no Co-Vid pay unless you are ill and DIAGNOSED with co-vid

To the person that called the people still working “a– kissers and id–ts”....sorry but I cant afford to not work, I am taking every precaution I can to keep myself safe, I am in contact with no one face to face outside of this building. I wear gloves and I wash my hands, touching only my equipment I am using. I understand your concern, but I just dug myself out of big hole financially and I’m not going back, so I work. I am far from an a– kisser and for the id–t part, until you know someone’s story I think you should stay in your lane. Would I like to be home getting paid while this is going on, well duh, who wouldn’t. Just don’t judge those that are going in just because you don’t agree with it. My job is open I am doing the best I can to keep myself and others safe. Those that chose to go home and they can, I dont blame them, I wish I could.but I cannot. And please dont bring back the c-ap about unemployment and such....save it unless you know my situation, and seeing as you called me an id–t, I dont think you’ll ever get the privilege of that.

Is there a way we can contact each other when this is over to discuss a class action suit? I understand wanting to be anonymous, but I'd honestly like to be able to pool our evidence so we can actually take action at some point. Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated!

All said below the last few lengthy post are very true, the Forest Park store in Cincinnati was expose to the virus march 19 as stated below, they are still open to push guns and ammo only. They allow employees to take a leave with no pay and cuzz they remain open u can't collect benefits so they got ya and if u stay u better push ammo and guns since they closed most other depts and filter u to the ammo section and gun counter. It's all about money and it's not about principles or guns rights or amendments but the NRA would step in and keep them open pretending it is some kind of gun right principle.

Johnny Morris is being a poor citizen, a bad American, and a greed human being. He is staying open under the false information that his stores sell essential products. That is not the case at all. Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops are not essential at all. Employees are told regularly that the stores exist for one purpose, fun. All they do is help people have fun outdoors. Since the virus started, they have put out propaganda to make it look like they are essential and important to society during hard times. Gun sales are way up. I guess people thing they can pick off the virus with buckshot! His stores sells a toy that shoots paper wads made out of specially-made toy toilet paper. He ordered his stores to put the toy and paper ammo out front to make it look like they sell essential toilet paper. They say the first hour is for the elderly, but I have witnessed them letting all waiting customers into the store regardless of age. He ordered stores to no close until ordered to close directly by government officials. He has no social conscience. He claims on his websites that there is a new leave policy to help employees during to the virus. His new policy is: " If you are scared and go home, you won't be paid." That is of no help to his employees who made $10 an hour when the virus and still make $10 today. Customers who shelter at home are now coming to Johnny Morris' stores to have a place to go and spend some time. Children now wander around with their wandering parents under the belief that Cabela's and Bass Pro Stores are essential and safe. Employees are subjected to needless face-to-face contact to discuss ammunition, deer pee, compasses, and camouflage shirts. Maybe if people wear camouflage, the virus will not detect them and will pass by. The stores need to close. Johnny Morris needs to quit being a hypocrite and become a concerned citizen. He can afford it. His employees cannot.
