Why u folks surprised about the two weeks pay? It was clearly documented in an email that I think was sent company wide. Perhaps there are some restrictions, but the opportunity is there.

2 weeks paid leave in MI? This should be across the board! Too bad my in-laws are at home, never mind.
I live in Michigan and a AT&T repair tech’s wife just posted on her FB page that her husband was just offered 2 weeks paid leave, because they just shut down all the schools and their kids will be home. Hard to believe AT&T would be that generous!

Other companies (Norweigen, SXSW, etc) have already started layoffs. Demand is way down, businesses are slowly bracing themselves. Expect it to get worse across the board.
Yes. A company can lay people off for whatever reason they want.
But Even if it weren’t legal, It wouldn’t stop them. At&t thinks they are above the law.
