Is this the begging of layoffs?

I thin we crossed the point. A recession is starting...

Citigroup, Wells Fargo — Bank stocks fell sharply in Wednesday morning’s trading, with several major names falling more than the broader market. Citigroup was one of the worst performers, dropping nearly 6%. Wells Fargo, whose CEO testified before Congress on Tuesday, fell about 5.9%. Mid-sized banks PNC Financial and Citizen’s Financial both slid about 5%. Shares of Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley lost more than 4%.

Not even close to a recession, which is 3 quarters of negative economic growth. People on a bank lay-off board yapping about a non-existent recession make me wonder why banks are not vetting new hires for college business credentials and basic testing of financial and business concepts in the hiring process.

If a recession occurs in 2020, I am sure there will be headcount reduction. I think we are in a recession already.
