  • During this pandemic we are all being encouraged to practice social distancing to slow down the spread and flatten the curve. Last week, we implemented a work-from-home strategy and are now rapidly expanding it to include more members of our team.

As part of our next phase, we are reducing the number of Verizon stores that remain open. However, our customers can still get the support and services they need 24/7 by visiting verizonwireless.com/support/, calling 800.922.0204 or using the MyVerizon app.

There was nothing posted in the garages on Friday except for I&M techs. The centers will
ask if there is cause for concern in the household due to the virus, before a tech is dispatched if they need to enter the home in a job. That’s all well and dandy but what happens if the people don’t know they have it and it’s communicated to the tech and then so on. The whole garage is quarantined including the bosses.

There is nothing regarding cxm or maintainer techs. What happens if they need to get into a building to fix or install new terminals and cable in old construction with people who might have the virus.

The company needs to step up and do all outside work and it’s also a perfect time to do some rehabbing work on the poles and company owned buildings including RT’s and hubs and copper xbox’s.

Let’s see how many techs get sick. Whipping out one garage a at time. What are they going to do then??

To the critcal excuse many people will hear, the critcality has nothing to do with location. Bottom line if you work at a desk all day, you can do your job from home. Don't believe their bs justification for keeping you strapped to that desk near the spreaders. Call them on it. Make sure they are there on the floor with you too if you have to be there. They don't get a pass from catching stuff because they choose to manage like it's 1989.

The company self-funds the healthcare, meaning it's not insurance. Instead BCBS negotiates the cost, shaves what they can, and then essentially Hans strokes a check. Since they directly pay for your healthcare they have a strong incentive to keeping you out of the hospital.

I am going to be working from home tomorrow but I am concerned about my team who is going out there and doing the job at customer's place. You are the Heroes.

I worry about any customer facing employee and also the employees in call centers - the centers have large open spaces, with people sitting very close to each other. The company should look at moving as many call center workers to home based as soon as possible.

There’s a chance this may happen, managers were asking teams if their phones and laptops are set-up to work remotely.

It's quite a stretch to say "everyone". I do think they will relax the policy for those employees in positions where it's feasible to work from home. I mean after all, they are a socially responsible company. /s
