Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

COVID19 , is the start of the 2020 Recession, how soon before AT&T begins headcount reductions related to this issue?

So I think it's safe to say at this point with all the world turmoil related to COVID19, its just a matter of time before T executives , its board and investors will realize they will need steep cuts as this pandemic will likely cause depressed economic activity for the foreseeable near future. Do you guys think T will pre-emptively begin reductions as and use the virus scare as a "cover" for their reductions? Or are they likely to wait a few more quarters before making significant headcount reductions?

I'm not blaming T management here , I think its going to be inevitable just like in 2007-2008 there's going to be major slashing of the workforce when the economy is in freefall..

It's very mild. You don't need a doctor. You can just go to work.

"They aren't going to delay any layoffs "
I'm not sold on that. They might want a little buffer against increased numbers of people calling in sick.

They aren't going to delay any layoffs ("employee-related expenses" as they've said). They're proceeding straight ahead with terminations, just like the Titanic into the iceberg, regardless of what else is happening.

Your over use of commas and poor sentence structure renders your opinion irrelevant.

I agree this should benefit the company but... This leadership will use the virus as a cover to fire more people. When other companies begin to let people go because of lower demand, this company will follow suit.

AT&T should actually benefit from the virus. This isn’t an effect anyone would want, but as more people stay at home and become more isolated, wireless and mobile use will skyrocket. As customers look for more stability, they will look towards AT&T. Installation and maintenance work will increase.
