Executives could have taken that would have the company fat better positioned today? We know the following have been epic disasters:
#1 TMobile Debacle. Everyone talks about the cash and spectrum assets but what TMobile did with that lifeline was simply amazing and destructive to ATT and others
#2 Direct TV. Not sure what the strategy on this was but epic failure.
#3 Time Warner. Soon to be disaster and ATT will be known as the HBO k–ler. Not a moniker you want when hundreds of millions were huge fans of the product and programming.
So what could they have done differently? What could they do differently going forward? I just don't see them being able to compete on all these fronts. Reminds me of Germany in WW2 and Stankey fits the profile. Stevenson appears off on another planet as of late.

POTS and Uverse? Sure...everyone wants a POTS line and a set top box. Put fiber everywhere? Sure...just Verizon did...who owns it now? Are you freaking kidding me? While you’re at it buy the yellow pages back, start printing them and leaving them on doorsteps and bring back switchboard operators too! And while you’re at it, start AT&T video rental kiosks. Because after all, people love have old technology...it lets them feel better connected to the past. Sure...
Sadly i think the strategy will be to do a short term "pump and dump" on the stock to satisfy Elliot and the executive's pockets then we'll see Randy and John leave before the results of their mismanagement are fully recognized. Mcfresh will be the scapegoat when this happens.
After this, Stanks role has CEO will be short, then he resigns in a temper tantrum as he blames everyone else for the problems. Meanwhile, Randy will be using his lifelong travel privileges to travel the world in AT&T corporate jets.

Big fat dumb pipes throughout our footprint. We should have future proofed our network.
Right on @ okt! All that $ we've spent frogging and pair changing over the years could have paid for fiber many times over. Blows my mind how the suites and ties say they can't afford to pull fiber to the rural areas, but we can afford the trouble tickets for 20+ years. No telling how many pots customers we lost because of that brilliant plan. Now we spend more $ rolling trucks on cables with fewer customers working in them than ever before. The way I see it, we can't afford not to put fiber everywhere.
Should have taken all that money and placed fiber everywhere and invested in improvements to the uverse platform att tv is just an even cheaper version of uverse it works on wifi and ethernet .......... dumba$$e$
