Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This year will not be pretty

Just think about it, we have the announced billions in cost cuts, AT&T TV is being decimated in reviews, coronavirus is already affecting the global economy and our bottom line... All of that will lead to many, many more layoffs in the following months than anybody could have predicted.

How does a person remain optimistic when faced with all of that?

Cutting costs is a good thing! It means money saved, which hopefully is a good thing for employees and customers. That is why all the managers are going to be fired. Its good for the bottom line.

This year!... past 5 year were more or less alike - demoralized employees with rudderless "so called management leaders" i don't see any improvement in at least next 5 unless Elliot Management/Paul singer help get rid of bean counting, C* suite accountants with some real visionaries.

OR this once great company will keep bleeding $$$ siphoned off from its own employee base. even that won't keep going for long ... writing is clear on the wall if these executives can read!

It's difficult to see when wallowing in fear, but cuts in underwhelming parts of the company will give more money to invest in the remaining part of the company.

OP: Cutting costs is a good thing! It means money saved, which hopefully is a good thing for employees and customers. I have not seen what you are claiming in regard to AT&T TV. In fact, in testing the product, I have been very, very impressed. It's much, much better than DTV NOW, and frankly, the features and functionality is superior to satellite DTV. You should try it out. Yep, Coronavirus will strain the the world economy over the next few months, I'm sure. It already is. My recommendation would be to stay out of China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran, and wash your hands frequently. I'm confident you likely won't get Corona, and pretty confident you won't get laid off. There are no guarantees in life, though, but don't let that make you panic. Be better, be tougher, be smarter. Stay optimistic and hard working and I promise you'll be just fine, regardless.

Disclaimer to everyone else: No, I'm not a Troll or a Trumper, nor do I work for corporate, nor anything else some loser on here wants to call me. I won't even see what you call me, because I almost never go to this site, because it's mostly a waste of time. What I am though, is a winner. You can make the choice in choosing to join me as a winner, or continue being a loser. Hope you make the right decision, and have a great weekend!
