Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Setting the Record Straight... Or Not...

This looks like a business communications 101 form letter, in response to a customer complaint. Single narrative, appeal to readers emotion, limited supporting details in attempt to persuade. No bad, any grading assistant will give it credit.

Just one problem, the scale is way bigger than a single complaint as many others had pointed out. Unlike the old days where correspondences were on typed paper, social networks gave everyone the immediate 1st hand knowledge of what actually happened. T fat cats are noting but ancient dinosaurs, rotting from within.

McFresh is a wannabe YouTube star, has his own video channel to answer the tough questions, highly produced and with his cult a** kissing followers. The form letter response is a major miscalculation, pretty sure the producers are pulling OT on damage control. Invite Carlson next time.

Just an FYI, I work in a so called "growth area" of the company and I've seen many good, productive co-workers let go. This is an across the board excercise that is affecting all areas of the business. For every 1 person that is let go, there is at least one non "English as a first language" person being brought it to replace them withing weeks.
Nice try but it looks like @1smr has either drank the cool-aide, or is on the corporate payroll.

This was Mc'F putting it on the table before the recent fake news reply:

Surplus is starting to feel like an annual exercise. Should we expect more layoffs?

One of our priorities is to transform how we operate. This is about getting more focused and efficient – and making our company stronger for the long term. Work is well under way, and one of the initiatives involves lowering labor-related costs. So, yes, you can expect some workforce reductions this year.

But this isn’t just about reducing headcount. In areas growing at scale, we’ll add people. In areas with slower growth, we’ll need to go down. Please know we are being very thoughtful and purposeful in these actions.

This is an ongoing process, and I understand how important it is to you. As soon as I can, I’ll share more information.

I love the smell of executive panic. You just know that this rushed and poorly executed response was ordered by the Stank. Poor Jeffie most likely got a call on his COU phone with an irate Stank on the other end telling him to "just fix it now!" The brand panic is palpable. This company is crashing but at least we get the satisfaction of watching our incompetent "leadership" melt down in abject panic.
