Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WF executives griped about scrutiny, mulled using charity as leverage

Check out link below. Nice company; huh?

It's high time everyone stops defending this deplorable, corrupt stain of a company.

I cannot think of a tackier off-the-cuff comment about what to do with the excess funds. There are a handful of respectable leaders at WF but I just cannot believe how corrupt, negligent, and obtuse these white privileged a-holes are. I wish they’d take their golden parachutes and go away. Betsy Duke...you too!

Yeah. Not condoning the shenanigans that happened at Wells Fargo but great points about Warren. She is corrupt to the point she doesn’t even realize the hypocrisy of her actions. Or she assumes the average person is too naive to realize she is basically the pot calling the kettle back

Is someone seriously blaming Waters and Warren for the crimes of Wells Fargo?

Wow, that is some Olympic Gold Medal level mental gymnastics.

What a wacky post. What on earth does the tuition charged by Harvard have to do with fees on student bank accounts?

Loans for tuition are almost entirely owned by Sallie Mae, a GSE.

To be clear, folks in Washington would have nothing to say if thousands of customers hadn’t been victimized by employees at all levels. That is the bottom line. The bank has been given plenty of rope, its chosen to hang itself, end of story.

Greed and corruption? You don't think lifelong politicians getting filthy rich while in office on tax payers dimes don't fall into that category? One of the aforementioned individuals you are defending also flat out lied about her ethnicity to land a job at Harvard where she was paid $400k to teach a law class while having the audacity to complain about fees that banks charge students." Do your homework. She is punishing over 200k team members while taking a profit.

How sad, watching people point fingers at Waters and Warren, as if it's their fault Wells Fargo's top brass is full of greed, corruption and failed to promptly make necessary change to cure it's ills. This is coming from someone that is not a fan of either Warren or Waters.

I realize some folks have been drinking the kool-aid so long and may be several degrees of separation from the corruption, so they may not understand what's really going on with their employer. But it's really, really bad and the only difference between WF and their competition is WF got caught. What makes WF worse is how they've dragged their feet and protected their own.

The sales scandal was reported by the LA times in 2014, and things really hit the fan in 2016. Six years is plenty of time to fix things with proper leadership and competence. That’s the point of the report! The bank has continued to be a cluster of stupidity, lying, arrogance and greed.

Maxine and Elizabeth simply do not realize they aren’t punishing the top executives and board members with golden parachutes. Like the last commenter said they aren’t going to stop until 200k people are out of a job over actions taken when they probably weren’t with the firm. Instead of giving the bank time to right the ship they continue to levy penalty after penalty which lead to lay offs..

Broke and sold and she is making it worse. Once they dismantle and execute living will 200k people without jobs. Yeah that sounds good, punish all.. well if they do, all those unemployed will be thankful for all the handouts Democrats support. Let it go Maxine. Move on. Just more homeless people defecating on the streets of la and san fran. But hey san fran prop 47 willallow them to rob store up to 950 in goods without a felony. Keep making California and our economy great, Maxine. Great job WATOAB

I would ask how Loughlin got the CRO job, but the report makes it clear that he was far from the only unqualified person which is a HUGE problem here.

In the article there's a link to the report. It's 200 pages, but just go read the table of contents.

You knew it had to be bad, but WOW.

I work for a big evil criminal organization.
