Nahhh - Unless there is an uncontrollable event (COVID 19) there should be no company wide layoffs. Overall, company’s performance is sluggish despite RD’s extensive buy of VZ stock! In addition, the 5G build out is not on target and the average US consumer is not ready to pay extra. I do believe that company wide RIFs will be targeted by late 2020. Wall Street is not happy with their financials. Looking for a 15K employee reduction or 2 to 3B USD reduction - 2020 -2021. Again, I am not sure about their plan of execution. VZ mgmt is new and inexperienced and I am not sure if they have fortitude and vision to succeed!

My team in PMO was impacted at a 4% level across the board. Seems they are on target to cut 10 Billion by 2021. Was told by management to expect another 3% next qtr. They are asking for employees with highest pay in position vs. performance. HR is making the decisions and not leaving this to manager input.
Seems we would have gotten more info by now. Almost like it didn’t actually happen.
