Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Unfortunate for OP that of the 15 replies, only two appear to be actual AT&T employees with the rest being TMo trolls. I entered this thread to give an honest opinion as a user of the product, but naw to much troll waste in this thread.

I'm sure monitoring an anonymous malcontent message board is a high priority to-do item in the C suite.

They are desperate to make this work. I don’t see it myself. It’s too expensive and way too late to market. Game of Thrones is over and let’s face it, the ending stunk. I don’t see people subscribing to watch that. GOT tours used to be 200+euros a person. Now those same tours are 25 Euros a person and it hasn’t even been a year since the show ended. With T on the cheap side, I don’t see them producing any shows on the caliber that HBO did. Especially now, that they ran off all the people who knew what good Television was instead of those who think they do.

If I am in your footprint and I don’t have uverse or att broadband there’s probably a reason why and why would I want to start now ?

If I have uverse and switch are you really adding a customer ?

I already have a roku and an apple tv. I will have to disconnect one hdmi port for something that only works with at&t, and I have to pay for it.

And you want a setup fee for this also? seriously?

I will try it for 12.99 a year , otherwise iam very happy with Amazon Prime and Netflix . Iam thinking about trying ApplevTV now that they have the HBO crew there.

It almost appears that they put this together while being cut off from the rest of the world. If there are some ways this is better than what is already out there, what are they? I honestly don't know.

I won’t touch anything att why would I deal with their billing and customer service. Life is too short for att.

Needs to cost under $50 per month, be bundled with HBO Max and be mtm uncontracted. Also depending on market locals are missing. Plus ditch the box and focus on ott steaming on Apple TV, google, Amazon, Smart TVs, and Mobil devices.

Looked long and hard, can’t find a single positive review from tech journalists and industry sources, that should tell you something. If you find one, please share.

requiring 24 month contract has doomed this service out of the gate. Come on AT&T, get with the times.

Me again. I dropped att tv now for Hulu plus. Att tv now was glitchy , the dvr was horrible. Then they made it worse cutting the dvr hours for employees down to 20 hours. My understanding is att tv uses the same cloud backend servers as att tv now so I suspect it will also be very glitchy. Also, why would someone who doesn’t have att for internet get this ? If you have another ISP, they will hit you with a data cap and overages. Let’s say someone has Comcast. No one is going to pay Comcast for internet and then att for tv. That is just stupid. Att execs are clueless.

give me a 90% discount and i might give it a try.

this product is DOA due to price. cable tv bundles are cheaper than this.

No absolutely I would not get this, even WITH the employee discount.

It locks you into a contract with steep penalties , it’s overpriced, you have to pay for the additional boxes. Why would I get this when I can put Hulu live or YouTube tv (or even at&t Now )on my Apple TV ? The beauty of Apple TV is how seamlessly it aggregates all all my video subscriptions in one place and is easy to search for any program via Siri. I have all the apps I want plus video games on it. Att is extremely late to the game. What they are doing with this android box , Apple has been doing it for years and apple does it way better. Apple isn’t stealing my customer data the way At&t is with this new product. Apple protects my privacy. I have an Apple TV in each room and cut the cord years ago and will never go back to any contract and especially an overpriced one like att’s. Apple rules. Att drools. And now Apple is going to be the next HBO since they stole Richard Plepler from att for their Apple plus original programming. Oh and I’m an att employee. I would love to be loyal to att but they give me no reason to. I switched to t-mobile. I get better coverage , faster speeds, at the same price as my employee discount with att. Our company is pathetic.
