Has anyone been told by their management or a received a formal communication by location to stay at home?
5 stores in San Diego closed because one of the managers tested positive.
Yup the virus is a hoax, take a trip to Wuhan China and bring Trump for the ride.
@1yvj+13NOZvK5 - wow, you work at AT&T AND you're an expert in virology and epidemics!
Phoney virus is a hoax.
Welcome to Prem Tech life - in the past year alone I have twice been in houses that I later found out had an active TB infected inhabitant. I have been exposed to hundreds of sick, snotty nosed kids home from school, old farts with transmissible pneumonia, people with colds, people with flu, people with friggin leprosy for gawds sake - never knew that was still a disease!
And now you want me to worry about CoviD - easy Bro - If you cough - I'm off!
Ain't never gonna let myself get k–led because you want TV.
I could take being in quarantine for a bit. I’m really tired and would like the rest.
Today on a call you could hear the stress in people’s voices as we discussed solving some business needs. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized what was happening. Unfortunately upper management will have some hard decisions to make over the next couple of weeks. Please get prepared. Your Health really does matter. Please continue to put your thought here in this thread. This virus is no joke. It will be like a wave west coast headed east. East coast headed west.
There is peace in this storm. There is a foundation that is solid. ATT will be important during this time providing broadband mobile and entertainment....Keeping things normal.
As ATT employees let’s stay connected ready to support each other, and as much as we are able be there to keep ATT healthy.
My manager thinks this whole thing is exaggerated and is still pushing for trips that should be held over web conference or our other meeting tech. Some of these managers think we’re working with a 1995 budget and T has endless funds for their wish list of trips and nonessential expenditures. Its not worth risking my life to go have small talk and “relationship building” face to face when this pandemic is going around. It defies all good reasoning. More guidance must come from upper leadership to avoid office outbreaks because lower level managers won’t make sound decisions on their own.
Travel restrictions were coming anyway due to budgets.
Yeah MK canceled her speaking tour.
Yeah they restrict travel for the suits and say nothing about the techs that actually go into peoples dirty houses. They hate the boots so much they don’t care if they get sick and die.
My thoughts are keep the Coronavirus threads coming as events develop. As corporate is very tight lipped about communicating important information with their workers, this forum is a good place to share information.
On a positive note, the company is restricting non essential travel which shows that they are aware of the situation.
On a negative note, nothing has been said to installers and repair techs, who go into many homes every day, regarding the Coronavirus. Upon asking about the company's plans for us during a possible epidemic during our crew meeting my manager replied that he had not heard anything whatsoever.
bring it on
We'll know more next week. I kind of have a feeling this will be like Italy.
If it means I get to stay home and get a checked mailed to me every week, bring it.
