Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is anyone else sad that they are running Wells into the ground?

21 years with this company...Wells Fargo, Norwest (many more mergers) and then Wachovia. I have to say I am saddened by upper management completely ruining the bank. From the c-ap product enhancements they make us put out, to the layoffs. Wells Fargo was always about quality. Not anymore, its about quantity and speed to market. With that comes problems as we have to overlook things to make deadlines.
We hired in India about 2005 and it didnt work. Did in again and still doesn't work. Then we were told to automate everything which didn't work so we are told go Agile. Well now they are pushing AI. I know my fellow Technology folks I am forgetting things but not trying to write a book here.
Now we face another round of layoffs. We all know they are not laying off the "big wigs" and they are not laying off the folks that do the work....so that leaves everyone in between.
It is disappointing and upsetting as WF was such a great place to work!!

Couldn't agree more. I used to tell people that Wells Fargo was totally the opposite of Chase but now we are becoming Chase, or rather what they tried 10 years ago there and it didn't work.

Which upper management do you mean? Kovacevich and his cross selling circa 1998? Or maybe Stumpf in 2005?

Wells Fargo has been lying for 20 years and technology is at least 10 years behind competitors, but OK, it used to be such a great place.

Jump into January, fly into February, march into March... Now 1 customer with a fee lies about what they were told and investigations start after 14 years of being clean with no other complaints. 11 of said years while being coached to be dirty from the top down. Only Wells Fargo could be bold and nieve enough to find loopholes and reason to fire/continue to blame the innocent. Think Wells Fargo think! The problems didn’t end with Stumpf and Sloan lying to Congress... the deception continues today.

I spent years of my life dealing with the mental abuse to avoid growing in the wrong direction that Wells Fargo wanted me to go. This slowed my growth in the correct direction. Although I was never part of the scandals and never did anything unethical I am treated as I did. What this company has yet to realize is the problems came from the top. More importantly the problems are still coming from the top but we are still blaming the little man.

Couldn’t agree more with commenter below. Feel fortunate for having a decade plus of wonderful experiences. Very few in retail have experienced anything positive for 20 years.

Now you know what it feels like to be in retail. Must be nice to have time to feel sad though. Most of us were too busy opening fraudulent accounts in order to keep our jobs. Go have your pity party someone else douchebag
