Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T TV Launch (k--l it)

I swear my managers are drinking the KoolAid and keep saying, IT IS THE GREATEST TV PRODUCT EVER. Not even joking.

Out of Footprint areas that have 3rd party internet are gonna be a hard sell because those 3rd parties have slow speeds and/or data caps.

@1ons+13JdyGiR - Man you ain't kidding that isn't flattering at all. Looks like it is a mess before it is even launched. Good luck to the EG group lol.

Any product the eg group comes up with will fail guaranteed. Cloud dvr won’t happen they will make it so worthless no one will use and then they will say there is no demand.

Any word on whether or not Cloud DVR is "free" or if they will charge consumers?

I once heard talks of EG wanting to charge consumers "only $0.99 per record" for DVR. Not making that up.

Lmaooo , "The Office" couldn't come up with a better script then this place.

You pay to OWN the box. Breaks? $120 please.

If you cancel your ATT account, you can no longer use your box to watch the others apps on it if you downloaded any. You’ll get locked out with the login screen.

It's capped at 3 boxes. The backend stack is garbage. Cloud DVR doesn't work and when it "does" is so disorganized that it becomes useless. OOF has to play by.a third party ISPs rules and guess what, T helped k–l net neutrality. This product is a magnum opus of how t–dbrained dummmmmm the company's "visionaries" are. Oh and its only auto pay, self install and billing has been shipped over seas. Hard pass.

The EG group is Hilarious.

  • A "streaming service" with a contract.
  • A cable box with a monthly price they will likely hike at will (as they done in the past)
  • The back end is nearly guaranteed to be a rehash of what DIRECTV NOW used to be.

The prices are way too high, plus they go up after the first year of a 2 year contract..I mean seriously, 2 year contract for a streaming service?! then again- what else would we expect from the idi0ts who make the decisions

As far as I understand it works in browsers and apps as well but you get an extra box for main location. As longa s there is no charge for it I don't see the problem, anything is better than the c-appy apple remote. I would be more concerned about the price which is not visible on the site.

It works fine. Is it different than u-verse or directv yes. If you have u-verse tv already then it should work fine. The cloud dvr is a good thing. It also works better on apps and other devices.

Agree , the ATT box strategy is going to fail, this isn't 1980 anymore the up and coming. consumers. millennials want flexibility and not tied down to antiquated "cable box" mindset.

As long as eg group can monitor it and provide targeted ads it will be a success even if one person subscribed.

Maybe we should buy a satellite dish company to handle the out of state footprint areas so that we can offer world class entertainment services.

Who really wants 1 box for 1 tv for their family and every other TV is controlled by streaming apps and other devices. And yet another failure on its way.
