Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Performance Review Time

February and March of each year is performance review time. As stated in previous threads management are wilfully giving employees poor reviews to put them on a Performance Improvement Plan so to fire them for cause or get them to quit without severance or unemployment.

Evil beings. In past threads people have stated that their managers would purposely state their MBOs or goals weren't met so they can deny employees of their bonuses.

"Improvement Needed" No bonus or raise. Oh well. Glad I do not count on the bonus for income to pay my bills.

In tech, I received exceeded performance review, no complaints, no asks for change, keep doing what I'm doing. 97% of target for bonus. A raise not large enough to cover gas and car maintenance. Oh, but I did get layed off. Enough said.

I can see my department using similar tactics. First they had a job family project that basically demoted certain people with the expectation their role would change. Second they implemented a policy stating if you had a relative in the department one of you had to go. Third they implemented aggressive metrics which led to people leaving and will probably cause needs improvement reviews.
Evil times

The person below was not ranked by this group as being in the bottom 10% that's why he skated by. Poor performing reviews that leads to PIPs are used to fire the 10% without severance or unemployment. But event then in my friends case it was done out of retribution and vindictiveness.

Some managers are not very good ones. But not all of them are like what you described.
