There are already 20,000 Wells Fargo jobs in India. The transformation office is working on plans to automate your job or send it overseas to India. They are focusing on all business lines and support functions and areas related to operations, technology, data science, audit, testing, reporting and even risk. This will drive a lot of lay offs.

It's funny when people actually think that DEI is anything but an anti white person op. Someday WF will chase cheap labor and open some offices in Africa. Think they will have to meet diversity metrics? No, they won't. It's almost like DEI is racist. BECAUSE IT IS.
How’s the DEI effort going in India? Let’s see some stats on diversity and percentage of women in management. I wonder how employee pride groups are going in Bangalore. If we are supposed to treat India like regular employees then let’s mark them on their diversity and productivity and hold them to the same standards. Also why are we celebrating a religious holiday at work in the US? Diwali is a religious holiday and it’s all over Wells. Why haven’t I seen the same for those obscure holidays called Christmas and Hanukah?
I work for Sales Practice Conduct Management (SPCM) under Scott Powell and Michael Clearly . We oversee all of the companies allegations. From the customers concerns over products opened without consent to Employee concerns regarding workplace conduct. We oversee all of the employee complaints that are raised through Ethics Lines, HR, Loudspeaker, emails to the board, etc. we log each case, research them and Investigate them. We were told a few weeks ago via phone that our jobs will be moving to India and the Philippines. They will not give us the new locations in writing while the other business lines have. Our managers are forced to read a document to us and said they cannot give us the document. There is something really shady going on and should be looked at.

we just received the email that they are "transitioning" and closing all our consumer operations locations across the states...our nearest location of employment would be 8 hours away..I've been with the bank 22 plus years, sticking it out thinking things would get better but.. that's half my lifetime wasted now displaced...unbelievable
They will outsource testing to experience personnel in India. Then, the experienced testers will get a better job in another of the million IT firms in India. Next, cheaper unexperienced testers will take over the function. Since they cannot conceive they could possibly make a mistake, the developers will create cr---y code. The initial experienced ones are long gone. Bad code + Bad testers = Junk. Doesn't matter to management in US as long as it is cheaper.
We don’t need QA, if the code doesn’t work, our customers will tell us!!! And we won’t have to pay them either. That’s cost cutting. Supposedly the code will now test itself. Maybe soon it will write itself too!

I don't think testing is going away.
I got the impression that rather than testing going away, they are embedding QA non-management folks within application teams, rather then having them as a separate entity.
So no more need for a QA manager since they're moving to a model that eliminates the need for them...
This is why he said managers specifically, not testing generally.
I'm sure testing in general is susceptible to all the various methods of automation, and increased level of testing to be performed within the application code itself, unit/integration etc.
I thought it was interesting Saul said that QA Managers in India were already told their jobs were going away and implies it would happen here also. It seems.to me that implies testing is going away. Of course QA was done originally so developers were not testing their own code and reducing risk, but hey, what do we care about that now.
We had a team meeting where were we told to "start engaging our Indian counterparts and figure out a way to stream line our jobs." This is Testing.
All Wells cares about is cutting costs at any cost. The don't care about your or me, American jobs, doing what is right etc etc.. There is a special place in hell for these people.
Not just contractors. 90% of the full time employees in technology is from India. I'm sure they are cheaper than those born in the US.
They also continue to bring in many, many contractors from India to do the work in the US. Terrible operating model.
