I'm getting on board this crazy train (link below) because I received notice to relo or severance as part of a poorly designed 'strategy' and I know LOTS of employees that do absolutely nothing all day, day after day, that kept their jobs and remain full time telecommute. THiS is what WF provides excellent, committed and ethical employees. If I go, I'm taking all those that do nothing and act with dishonesty with me!

i wouldn't loose my job or ever loose pretty much everything that I value. If you think that Wells is going to force you out and you will lose your job, then you should be ready for it. Get prepared by learning your rights, what Wells offers in severance and research your options with a good Labor Attorney prior to it. But do not loose your job or loose pretty much everything unless you have absolutely had it with Wells or have found another job.
Would love the opportunity to discuss this with Congress. I too have been given an ultimatum to move or loose my job of nearly 20 years; 13 of which I have been working from home... quite successfully I might add. 4 Years ago the company approved my request to move out here and now this. Like most of the others I know that are affected we risk loosing pretty much everything. I don't even want to work for this unethical, outsourcing (and in-sourcing from the same source) American jobs, piece of c-ap anymore but would like to separate on my own timeline without loosing everything we've worked for.
That is correct, they do not hire replacements, they pull in someone from India, and everyone dies inside just a little bit more.
There has been a moratorium on promotions in my area over a year, plus a hiring freeze. Now we know why with the replacements only nonsense. Except they haven't hired replacements either for over a year.
Also quite frankly, management, especially in IT does a horrible job of actually effectively using the people they do have.
Additionally, if you're in a 'replacements only' location for hiring, then there is absolutely zero point in going above and beyond. So because of my location I have ZERO upward mobility unless I'm willing to move for this job, or one at another company.
There are lazy people everywhere! Some work in the office and some telecommute. Not every telecommute personal is lazy. It is like saying all Wells Fargo employees are all unethical - which is not true despite the scandals that went on.
There are days I cannot breathe - far from what the OP said as "doing nothing".
Seriously, it is post like this that I think is doing a disservice to everyone.
Wells Fargo is still a very unethical company, just in a different way. It will catch up soon
Why don't you stop trolling and go somewhere else to spew your ill written opinions.
Wow! Ok well instead of unleashing your furor on others that telecommute but just happen to live in an area with 10 or more tech people, why don't you reach out and ask people to rally around you and prepare a good case to bring to congress. You know there are plenty of people that are worried about phase 2 a well!
