Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Impossible to overcome a culture

That enables $50 to $100 Billion disasters with zero accountabilty only to position the disaster makers to do it again. The dividend and debt payments are bribe money to keep the mob complacent. Verizon Wireless, TMOBILE Sprint, Amazon, Disney, Comcast NBC, Apple, Netflix, Google are all going to eat away at ATTs revenue stream and their is nothing they can do about it. They are all less debt burdened, better managed, more respected, and far quicker to adapt and adjust. Including all those companies mentioned and ATT who would you pick to finish last in a race? I remember one time when a competitor was kicking our tail and we had an "all hands on deck" meeting. I mentioned studying the competitor and using their products to see what the experience was like. How can you expect employees to understand a retail customers experience if you yourself get the product for free and havent used a competitors ever? Well that did not go over too well as that would question all their initiatives that simply were not working. That was the nail in my coffin in that organization. I wasn't a team player.

Wait until you see the proxy statement prior to the annual stockholders' meeting. See if Elliot Management is going to start steering the company. And if Randall acknowledges he won't be here on 01/01/21.

I remember when they bought Excite. At the time there were 3 big search engines. Google, Excite, and Yahoo.
Well, att bought Excite and,...ummm...they did what they do best with acquisitions. R.I.P. Excite

@rcv - he sure wanted to be more like Google... with all of the “collaboration”, open workspaces, Geo rationalization (AND not to mention Yahoo with the VPN reports and we see what happened to Yahoo).

"Att is still trying to figure out how to beat google lol. "

Donovan insisted we needed to be more like Google. I always got a laugh out of those comments too.

Remember the Excite @home acquisition? Apparently, Donovan didn't, but it's all good since he left with his millions already.

When you have a culture of yes men and women with their noses permanently impaled in their superior's rears, nothing is going to change. Ever.

This ship deserves to sink.
