Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Employees want a raise Company wants to cut labor costs

The only way both can be accomplished is through significant layoffs/surplusses. Enjoy the company of your coworkers....I am sure they have your best interest in mind.

T has to stay ahead of competition and conserve resources. They've mismanaged the employee resource base forever wasting productive time with useless bureaucratic BS. Processes are way to cumbersome. Even T's customer-centric website is so hard to navigate it's a joke. They see the solution as eliminating employees. OK, just as long as it's those that build bureaucracy into the processes. And that starts at the top. Where have the skip-level meetings gone. I'd love to have had a VP sit at my desk and watch a day of IT work when I was upgrading a server security function for 3 hours. When they'd ask why it took so long I could tell them this is your process. And T has over 100,000 servers. But that never happened. They are out of touch.
