I’m a service tech in upstate South Carolina
I work hard every day and overtime most nights
But they surplus more every quarter and the writing is on the wall
Sad
All because of mismanagement
Keep playing the game....numbers look pristine, gps ...where I should be, on time, counting the days....collecting a very nice check!
There are people doing nothing and there are people busy. That is why there should be layoffs and hiring to adjust the workforce. That idea is hard to understand for some people. Especially the angry ones.
Mobility in the central region is busy. I could almost say we have too much work with BTS router upgrades and 5G prep.
I watch Beverly Hills Cop all day, almost know the script by heart. LOL
Guess it depends on your org. Over in abfs-field operations , we struggle to keep up with the workload. Lots of new projects going on. In fact , we’re hiring. We need more techs.
Lots of work in my ATO Mobility space.
My video gaming skills have become quite impeccable, I think I may add it to my resume to make my resume sparkle when they finally come and surplus me and apply for outside jobs. That's what I've been doing, something other than the no work to not work on here.
It’s incorrect to say there is no new work. There is plenty of new work that aligns with strategic initiatives.
there isnt any new work, its just sustainment type activity. dont need a college degree for this. just fill out the time card though
Well, not that busy, but plenty of reports and meetings to fill a day. 10 hours is generally my limit...the company keeps laying off people because they can't manage money...I won't k–l myself for that. But someone has to do the work the "surplused" folks left behind. How can they be surplus if their absence means someone else has to pick the work they left behind?
so, the one person who posted is advocating finding busy work, as apposed to something innovative, etc. got it.
Sounds about right from what I remember at att only the chosen few get assignments the rest just linger and die on the vine until the next surplus. Makes me wonder if surplus helps cook the books and put up false numbers somehow. But the will continue hiring new people and hopefully they come to this board before saying yes.
I am overly busy every day. I dont have time for bathroom breaks. You must be in the wrong org. Raise your hand or go look for improvement projects you can do.
