Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

As am or genius move?

I wonder how creditors would look at us if we do this. Seems like a “scam” to me. But I am not an accounting expert. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/t-finds-way-help-grind-123000567.html

it's only a matter of time until Dandy Randy's house of cards comes crashing down.

But why should he care? The shareholders and employees will be the ones left holding the bag for his malfeasance. While Randy goes gliding off into the sunset with his golden parachute.

Ratty must be studying GE's Jeff Immelt, and how he drove GE into the ground.

Makes you wonder just how many overall customers they are losing from all areas. Wouldn’t think this would be needed. Maybe that can come out with an att charge card and they get into the banking industry.

Absolutely shady. To whatever extent that action generates cash flow, that potential cash flow was ALREADY priced into the value of the stock, the ability of the company (in the minds of creditors) to repay debt over x amount of time, and the overall view of the company's financial health by anyone that took an entry level accounting class. In other words, it's just another debt refinance mechanism, and should be stated as such.

Very creative accounting to bolster quarterly numbers; but it has the look & feel of a payday loan. High interest (dividends) and long term mortgaging your income stream.

Not a scam but it is shady for a company with a high credit rating. Why you think they did it when everyone was around the Christmas tree and not looking at news lol
