HBO MAX CHIEF DISMISSES HIGH CONTENT FEE VS. OTHERS

People do not shop for their entertainment experiences with price being the primary motivation, AT&T HBO MAX Chief Reilly told a TV critics meeting Wednesday.
"People don’t say, ‘I'd love to go to this concert, I don't really want to go to this one as much. But it's cheaper, so I guess I'll go to that one.”

Is this guy for real? People absolutely shop for their entertainment experiences with price being the primary motivation. His reasoning is the dumbest I’ve ever heard. If a concert is too expensive, but there’s a cheaper one that they don’t really want to go to, they just save their money and don’t go to a concert.

How does someone like this have the job that he has?

Stankey's ego is only matched by his gigantic arrogance... Stankey if you are reading this.... if price is not the primary motivation, WHY are you sending thousands of US based AT&T employees and outright replacing them with the cheapest warm bodies you can find anywhere in the planet?

Pack and take your golden parachute, there are beautiful beaches and golf resorts you can buy and enjoy for the rest of your life.

I'm sure this will get down voted into oblivion, but $15 is good if you're getting all of HBO's content plus WarnerMedia's library content (TV and movies) and new originals. People pay $15 for HBO Now, why wouldn't they want to pay the same amount for more content?

He’s practically inviting people to pass on the service and if there is something they really want they’ll just pirate it. These people are clueless.

Looks to me like AT&T TV Now is not priced to sell or make it competitive, it's there to keep content price up.

Clueless HBO Chief Reilly and incompetent Randall "The Rat" Stephenson and arrogant Mr Stanky The Stank are what's wrong with this company. With clowns like these three running things, this company doesn't have a very bright future.

I think what he means is, if a person wants a certain show or channel and it is only available through 1 provider then the price doesn't matter as much. If all the shows or channels that a person wants are offered by 2 or more competitors then lowest price does matter.

Obviously price doesn't matter for those whose annual income is measured in millions. For the rest of us "normal people", we have to budget and prioritize our spending. This is another classic example of how "out of touch" the executive level has become.

Dear Mr brain dead executive, If price didn't matter, then why have so many people cancelled traditional cable and satellite services?

Consideting that their Entertainment segment saw revenues decline 3.4%, and operating income decline by 1.7%. This was mostly driven by a 4.2% decline in Video revenues as premium TV subscribers declined.
AT&T for the most part had miss most expectations in the past, what make you think that this time would be any different? ...Their speculation game Thrives, thanks to their institutional investors allocations.

"How does someone like this have the job that he has? "

Because Ratty and Stinky are in-charge. Ratty, Stinky and the Board of Miss-Directors need to go and clean house of all the Pointed Haired Bosses they put in.

Sadly I don't think they will go until just before bankruptcy so they can all cash out.
