The Wells Fargo Technology department just acquired a tremendous number of expert programmers from our department. A qualification to be accepted into the Wells Fargo Technology department was great expertise at programming. This was a realignment of programming resources. Happy to report that there were 0 displacements/layoffs during this transition. We welcome the opportunity to serve the Wells Fargo Technology department with our great technical skills. Thanks again to the Management that no one was displaced/laid off in the transition.

This location strategy is a waste, we are in 2020 no need for such obsolete ideas.
Waste of time and money . No need for that with the cloud
Marketing is bloated with unnecessary layers.
Marketing layoffs.
Of course Technology isn't seeing any layoffs, Wells Fargo is investigating more into Tech and Innovation. Those being let go are people who are working in positions that are being automated out, and pushed out due to relocation/cost cutting.
The department I am in is currently being dismantled to be relocated. My co-workers aren't aware because;
- ) They just think they aren't getting much work, due to procedure changes.
- ) Management keeps lying to them saying their jobs are safe.
With me being a newer hire, younger, and with my academic background I understand exactly what is going on. And in all honesty, I was hired into a dying department just to keep it afloat until the job can be transferred else where. Hell, I can easily transfer into Tech due to my academic background as well, but my co-workers unfortunately gave 15+/20+ years with nothing to really show for it, sadly.
So yes, for not Technology is safe. But Tech in Banking within huge banks is constantly hindered leaving many tech people annoyed and bored.

Corrective actions for employees had to be completed by December 12 or so says the manual.
We haven’t heard of any layoffs this month. What areas are you referring to?
Must be nice. Lots of others in other areas have been laid off in the past few weeks, including today. Things are not rosy everywhere, I assure you.

The department that we were aligned with previously is great and the top boss is really nice, kind and very knowledgeable. We had no personal "say" in this transition. Many people remain behind in the original department to continue on with the very important work being performed in that department. We are still connected to them and will be working with them daily.
