Legacy T layoff info 12/13

In true AT&T fashion they have kept with the legend of Friday the 13th.

Today AT&T has announced a major hit to Local 1150 members. Specifically to our LNS maintenance center in Bedminster NJ. This office has been impacted at this time last year by the layoff of 21 employees then, and today the remaining 26 were notified of the surplus. The office is closing and the work is moving to Atlanta. They were offered to follow the work to Atlanta, but with a title change to Comm Tech. Which we all know AT&T has been getting rid of all the people with that title as well. The reason for the title change is so our members can go down there and be on the low end of the seniority list and also to train the people there how to do th work, because they don't have a clue.

We also have a member in Middletown NJ that is surplussed as well, 1 Production Specialist.

We are truly sorry to inform you of this news and that it has affected our members and their families.

Would you get bumped by another Comm Tech once you got to Atlanta. It might be worth the move money if you could temporarily go there and maybe try to get a Comm Tech/NTS job closer to home.

what a kick in the a–, I will not be going to atlanta as a comm tech to have someone come along and be able to job claim it. I am one of those in the original post being affected. Thanks for nothing for all these years (union my a–)

only good thing is I no longer have to worry about losing my job. Time to move on from this sinking ship. It paid well, but to constantly have your job in the cross hairs truly did s—. The worst thing they do and have always done is doing it right before the holidays, way to k–l xmas AT&T.

I hope the people who make these choices to surplus people 2 weeks before xmas will have a sh–ty xmas too.

CWA 1150 covers OOR technicians in NYC, Long Island and New Jersey not the SE

Are you sure that you have the right title for the SE?

Our office was on the surplus list announced 12-13. 10 Facility assignment specalist, jackson, ms. We are all retirement eliable so we have been waiting on this layoff for a while. Also 2 Engineer assistant s was on the list. They are not in our office but in the same builting. The is the SEregion Displacement date March 14, 2020

How do you come up with 1150 employees laid off?
