Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

A house divided

“A house divided against itself t stand “ Why doesn’t “leadership” see this?
Has anyone thought about bonding together and fighting this atrocity?!? Every everyone took a stand that is affected, management and craft alike, maybe some things could change. Make them realize that there is strength in numbers and If power was taken back from them by taking a stand, that we are actually what makes this company run!

It's because everyone is waiting for a layoff with severance or a decent MVO instead of getting off their a– and telling them to take this job and shove it.

They may as well say " ok, Inidia, be glad to take my job for 5 bucks an hour. Here is everything. But i get 6 months pay, and I will probably never again have another job that pays just as well even though I have a nano degree."

They will give that leader a huge pay raise and promotion. Who's next to take the lead?

You can’t update on post. So I’m reposting. The workers of this failed enterprise absolutely need to take a stand. People are standing up to oppression and fighting for their rights all over the world, often risking their very lives to do so. Even here in America, workers ranging from teachers to autoworkers to Walmart employees are fighting for their self interest.

Meanwhile, back at AT&T, crickets. And we have a (supposed) union!! Workers are being axed left and right, some even suffering the indignity of having to train their replacements! Those that still have jobs are required to do more work to make up for essential workforce that was lost, having to work in highly stressful toxic work environments, and required to meet impossible performance standards.

What is it going to take before the workers at this place grow a back bone? WE are the essential part that keeps this business running, not Randy and Stanky and their fools. They could disappear tomorrow and neither the customers or any one else would notice. Or care.

Why would ANYONE be giving 110% to an organization whose only goal is to lay them off when it's most convenient? Employee morale is at an all time low at this dysfunctional place, let your productivity match your morale.

We need to unite. All show age and years of service and prove how we have been targeted so they do not have to pay benefits.

The difference between AT&T and McDonald’s.

McDonald’s only has one Clown that runs the show!

Sounds like one off the smartest suggestions I’ve read on this site! I agree there is strength in numbers but it won’t be easy. You need a dynamic leader, have never met one yet at AT&T. I’m going to give this a thought on how I would help and suggest moving forward.

and how exactly are we to do that? tell them we refuse to be laid off? I'm sure they'll respond, Ok then, nevermind, you can stay employed here..
