@-1kjw, at one time, AT&T truly appreciated their employees, I believe that change started when the dot com bubble burst. Seems to started slow, and picked up steam right down to the base of the mountain. Before that time frame, new employees got a 401K, a Pension, and Stock Options (that were actually worth something). If you were a manager (salary) and worked overtime, you were truly compensated with time off and didn't have a system to track, it was an honor system between you and your boss. One by one, as Randy took over from Ed, and as the contempt of the employee increased, the Stanky effect, we lost so very much, including respect and dignity.
Wow. That should be the norm in this world, not the exception. People should work for a company that appreciates them for their contribution, not one like AT&T that is run by greedy sociopaths who see their workers as a liability.
Every year it's like this. Who can we cut to make up for the bone head mistakes that corporate leaders have caused.
Hey, T got that $30 billion corporate tax break, and we employees got our thousand dollar one-time kicker. What else to you want? A cost-of-living raise?
