Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No commission starting in 2020

Anyone else hear the rumor that retail employees won’t be getting commission starting in 2020. Heard they’re just paying hourly.

After retiring, moved from VzW service to Visible, Verizon's low cost alternative. Same reliable VzW network, no pesky salespeople on commission to deal with. Yay! $40/mo total for unlimited, down to $25/mo when I get three more in my "group".

The commission structure will be changed in January, it was explained in general terms yesterday. Something to do with "location based numbers" they must have sat in a room for days .

No. Commissions will continue but quotas will skyrocket. Find employment in the indirect stores. Commissions are better and quotas are reasonable.

A feasibility study was completed in 2018 regarding the movement to straight salary, but the losses would be substantial due to the employee volume.

@1kla...are you seriously motivated right now??? Last 3 months on day one of the month I already knew I had NO chance to hit my numbers, not to mention make any money. My whole store has felt defeated on day one of each month because you know the company is doing this on purpose and there is no way in hell with the traffic we have in our stores that these numbers are attainable. This month I need to put over 900 a day in my bucket and sell 8 boxes a day just to hit a 1.0, that already is a stretch, but add in the fact that every day that it's slow you now need to sell more and more every day to try and catch up, not to mention that after the 24th the month is basically over, unless they pull some prime promo out of their a–, like we all waited for last month, that never happened. Bottom line is they have us right where they want us, but the joke is going to be on them, people are already dropping like flies, good people, people with tenure, the people that actually show up every day and care about their job ( at least they used too! ) This company is going to run themselves into the ground because they just don't get it!!

yes, commissions end in 2020 and an hourly rate takes effect.
In 2121 the hourly rate will be replaced by sacks of rice
