I decided to elect MVO, sent signed document to HR and got automatic response that I will hear back in 2 days. I was expecting to get answer whether it’s approved or denied but all I got was that the form will be processed and final decision concerning acceptance or denial will be shared with me within 2-3 weeks from when the offer window closes. What do I do now? Do I tell my manager? Everyone will be on holiday vacation in 2-3 weeks. I was expecting to know this week so that I can share with my team and now I’m not sure what to do.

Anyone under 40 should get the hell out of this company while you are still employable due to age discrimination for older workers. Anyone over 50 has no where to go unless they are very specialized in a high demand area. It’s only going to get worse over the next 3-5 years so get out while the job market is good!
Metered means they can ask you stay longer than the 12/30 off payroll date for the MVO if they think there are transition efforts that must be completed before you leave. One does not have to do it though according to the paperwork. They can ask, but one does not have to accept.

When I did it a couple of months ago they put a notification date like this out there but got back to me pretty quick. I would move forward as if you are leaving and plan accordingly so no one including you is caught off guard.
I’d tell your boss that you applied. Show you are a team player and want to work on a continuity plan. He/she may know already or your director might. Unless you’ve been burned before. I told my boss and so many of my team are taking it I asked if there is a chance I would be metered. He did not think they want to meter any of us. I’m a 1st level so probably so.
Yea. Everyone taking MVO offer got a response confirming receipt but won’t know for sure til Dec 16th per email. But since they are already targeting another 4% ... expect acceptance.
48 hrs after I submitted mine I received a document with the severance pay amount . It also said they would tell me in 2-3 weeks if my MVO was approved. Good luck to us all. Who knows what the 3 year plan will mean. Fewer jobs/people In sure. Hope they accept me and I save someone else’s job.

The executives will keep cutting people until the Titanic sinks. You can't remain competitive when all of your top talent leaves the company - they simply take the MVO bonus and walk off to a better job who'll hire them on the spot. Obviously the "great leader" Mcelfresh is completely oblivious to that fact - he's delusional to think he can keep squeezing out performance.
The "approval" process is there to make you think they care - well, they don't. They are simply trying to stay afloat as long as possible.
Same boat. Got my response back with the severance number, but it says 2 weeks before I even know if it is approved. One of the douche infomercial timeshare VP meetings said they would all be approved, but you know how slimy and trustworthy they are. Great.
