Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

More surplus ... it's the AT&T way!

Jeffy Mac just confirmed that he will gleefully work on more surplussing through 2020, saying that it will definitely happen.

Merry xmas from the deathstar!

ICB and Mobility Product Marketing are likely targets for big reductions if we are going to streamline or product portfolio and stop with the one-off products.

There is absolutely no incentive for anyone in a custom solution, "bespoke" service to make a concerted effort to deliver a high quality product. It was very clear that on-offs, custom solutions and bespoke services will be jettisoned - sooner rather than later. Not sure if contracts with customers will play any part in this at all. Every year has been a rough year for quite some time. Now there is absolutely no point in doing anything other than polishing the resume and looking elsewhere.

these Town Halls get more ridiculous every month. The laughing and awful dad like jokes need to cease. Things are NOT all rosey.

I was surprised he didn't "run out of time" for Q&A again

"What are they clapping for? Seriously...

Because none of them are on the chopping block..."

Don't be so sure... There were people in that room who will most likely be forced out.

You obviously do not recognize the "friends and family" plan. If there were 10% layoffs, there might be 1 out of that whole group, the rest, not friends and family.

The sunset of the Uverse platform will be the largest “portfolio rationalization “.

Techs, field management, supply, fleet, support groups.......

It’s going to get ugly in 2020.

"Portfolio Rationalization" I jotted that one down. We're all going to be hearing that phrase a lot.

Is it me, or the stated 1-2% revenue growth doesn't add up to the hype around the 3 year plan.

Mean while, lay off will continue, which translates into loosing more customers then selling new services/products.

I guess I don't understand the fuzzy math.

He also said no more spreading out the cuts like the past. Likened it to spreading peanut butter. Sounds like entire groups/orgs will be wiped out.

It isn't just 2020. It is for the next 3 years. 3 more years of reorganizations and layoffs.

At the start of the townhall McElf brags about how great we're doing and how our growth is continuing,

At the end of the townhall he says, yeah there will be surplusing in 20.

I guess growth isn't enough to keep the C-suite dbags bonuses high enough.

Gotta love the consistency.
