This has been going on forever. Nothing new. When companies can’t get their stuff together hedge vulture capitalist…. Bass Pro/Cabell did not need to happen for any other reason of profit. They were doing just fine.

This has been going on forever. Nothing new. When companies can’t get their stuff together hedge vulture capitalist companies like Elliot come swooping in. If a company has their stuff together it’s a non issue and they look at other companies who don’t. . If ATT had their stuff together, we wouldn’t be having this discussion - period. These days whenever I hear anything ATT I think “LTTP” (Late To The Party) instead. New products that aren’t, buying into mature markets with no experience in them and getting rid of the people who had the experience, relying on their antique brand for the rationale for overpriced products and lack of innovation. I wouldn’t be surprised if they buy an oil company soon, slap ATT on the gas station signs, increase the price by $1.00 a gallon because “after all - we’re ATT”, and oh yes show their innovation by giving away a free glass with ATT branding on it because “everyone in America will want a set!”
Folks, they are Elliot Management and not Elliot Nice Guys. They are in it to make money, just as Randall and his sycophants are. Yes, both are psychopathic.
The main difference is that Randall is not quite as clever as Elliot. That's why he is reporting into them, and not the other way around.
I used to love Cabela's before the Bass Pro merger, now I understand why.
That's part of the Elliott Management trickery. Make it seem like they care and manipulate public opinion for their own benefit. Elliot had a target stock price before they dump the stock. They are going to be a pest until they reach that point even if it involves manipulating management to speed up employee layoffs and breaking up the company

Paul Singer and Elliott group now have their dirty little fingers around ATT's neck making Stephenson and McElf (apparently gladly) laying off thousands of people so they can keep their millions in bonuses and Singer can get another hundo mill off the backs of others. CEOs are evil and disgusting. Sell outs.
Some places are already like Venezuela, but with first-world cost of living. Think Flint and other places which don't have drinkable water. People are very tired of crony capitalism.

If this place was so important and doing great dont you think someone would have bought it and run it? there is always more to each failure than is reported. Dont be fooled by the sensational part of the story. its sad when anyone looses there job, but remember we are a somewhat capitalistic country so companies have to make money. The other option is like we are seeing in Venezuela.
