Is it selling well? I don't believe it is. Retail stores are using monitors with an ad loop now, back like they were in the days before DirecTV was purchased

I live in the trial market. It kinda works. Picture similar to uverse. Local channels sometimes get lost and requires a system reset. Cx’s will flip when their contracts expire...many don’t know they are outright buying the boxes. 3 streams max has p-ss-d off a few customers.
Had a cx with 40-50mbs and there was an ever so slight stutter in the picture. Our solution for it?

As a current RSC in retail, I’ve yet to sell AT&T TV because Dallas isn’t in the testing market, but I can already tell it’s going to fail. Our biggest objections on DirecTV are the fact that there is a contract and it requires equipment. AT&T TV is also a contract that requires equipment. Customers do not want a contract and they have the luxury to not need it with other services being available at a less-expensive rate. Expect AT&T TV to fail as a service. The stress levels for retail will be at an all-time high, and we will see asset protection cases rise. My current store manager has already been talked to several times by asset protection for fishy sales credits being given out to customers getting DirecTV, and he is always in the clear. We need these car salesmen tactics now to sell bad products. If there was ever a time to laugh at the stupidity of old people living in fairly tale land, it’s now. Whoever works downtown making these decisions needs to go ahead and retire so this company can be successful in the future.
Supposedly is only a test here in NY but as a RSM you can definitely feel that pressure from upstairs. and you gotta do what you gotta do to survive with this new dying product which will be no good in the city
Forced migration will begin in first quarter. They will stop selling the Uverse product all together and will only offer ATTtv.
At the same time they will increase the price of DTV and Uverse. When customers call to complain the stellar sales team will offer ATTtv at a slightly lower cost. Once a customer moves to ATTtv there is no moving back.
It is bad here in NY. Reps are slamming it and selling with prepaid visa cards just for number being cute on dashboard. But it is a hard sell when spectrum fios and optimum/altice have their own broadband which bundled is way cheaper than att tv.
According to HR, AT&T Tv is supposed to be such a hit next year, they had to considerably restrict vacation availability in 2020 for outside core techs. The company has gone off the nutty deep end.
They are chasing cord cutters with unproven hardware, cable prices, and no product/service differentiation.
HBO max: if you really want to binge watch Friends, you've already done it on Netflix.
The Osprey is a POS. It's already behind the times. Unless they upgrade the CPU/Memory in that thing before it goes mainstream, it's gonna fall flat on it's face. Even the c-appy DirecTV genie (probably the fastest DirecTV receiver ever deployed), is faster than the AT&T TV Osprey. Just SAD. Might as well just buy a Roku and use that.
Yeah so much for passing savings to consumers which is what Randy had said when he first talked about the product in early days. He said they were going to save on tech rollouts and other costs and pass that onto the customer. This guy lies and lies. Like the hard hat jobs that he was going to create if the permanent tax break passed. It did and he didn’t. Randy is a POS
It's pricing is terrible. A streaming service with cable prices, a contract, and autopay REQUIRED.
