For weeks, prior to this latest MVO, I’ve seen a flood of cross talk theories leading to what happens in 1Q regarding a follow-up "involuntary MVO" or even a general surplus....and to that I will say, like before, still a rumor!
If you’re gambling on skimming through and get the involuntary, with unemployment as a bonus....ok, you might get it, but at a risk. If you’re ready to go then consider the risk going forward staying to 1Q.
- Best outcome, you get what you want, you take the package, get the Severance and Unemployment.
The risk if you wait:
- Company makes an involuntary offer, which you personally want, but doesn’t include you.
-
Company makes the involuntary but reduces the terms of the Package, maybe it’s Severance,
Healthcare or both! -
Company blows the Involuntary Rumor out of the water and they Outsource you to another
company, not exactly a stretch nowadays, and now you left with only bad choices:
Take the transfer and wait it out for a year, or refuse the Outsource and you get let go....no package
certainly no Unemployment by the state, because you refused further employment by your
company.
Everything starts as a "Rumor" until it’s something else....make the right choice, but understand the
conséquence!
