Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Oops, who forgot Roku? “Uffda!! How did this happen?! How in the world am I going to fix this?” Randall

AT&T has publicly announced that AT&T TV and HBO Max are their main focus. AT&T hopes that the launch of AT&T TV will help turn around their recent subscriber losses and help their TV segment become more profitable.

Now AT&T has found themselves suddenly without Roku support. Over a week ago now the AT&T TV Roku Channel was removed from the Roku Channel Store. If you already have it installed, you can keep using it, but no new customers can download it. Roku is the largest streaming player in the US, and the lack of Roku support will dramatically hurt AT&T TV’s growth.

Roku reportedly makes up half of all streaming player sales in the US. Roku reports that 1 in 3 smart TVs sold in the US in 2019 was a Roku. With that growth, the question is will Roku owners ditch their new TVs and streaming players to buy a Fire TV, Apple TV, or Android TV. Or will Roku owners decide to skip out on AT&T TV in favor of one of a growing number of live TV streaming services that support Roku like YouTube TV, Sling TV, and Hulu.

AT&T says they hope to strike a new deal with Roku to bring the AT&T Roku Channel back to Roku players and Roku TVs. With the AT&T TV nationwide launch coming up AT&T is now on the clock to reach a deal with Roku to help the launch of its new live TV streaming service.

They also did not fund any support backend or diagnostics for Att tv. The funding was cut last year. So guess what happens if it breaks or stops working? No one will know until calls pour in.

Randall just ordered to fire 190 technicians, for this major contractual gap, no one in management was held accountable.

At this point Randall, the best thing you can do for this company and its shareholders is RESIGN.

LOL Roku is selling like hotcakes because they make a box that works with that HDTV you bought back in 2005 that you paid $1800.00 for. Upcycling your old TV rather than adding to the garbage pile. Any walmart on any given day will have the shelves almost emptied of these things. OK your big excuse is "well walmart is not our demographic". Really? Why are you selling products there then? The focus is Roku is supporting legacy equipment rather than forcing obsolescence. Upcycling is trendy with with your core demographic too. Take a page. So I would not get rid of my Roku TV or my Roku boxes so I can watch ATTnow. I would not add yet another box to clutter my TV. Take a page. By the way. What happened to the statement 'warner is going to be immediately accretive to the bottom line.... who's bottom line?

att has no business running time warner they will try to rob everyone else in the market by holding their content hostage just so randy and stankey can do more creative accounting and laugh all the way to the bank. I hope no one buys their content and they wither on the vine.

"AT&T has publicly announced that AT&T TV and HBO Max are their main focus."

The only thing the execs in this company are focused on is their bonus payout.

Seriously, they care nothing about the products, customers or employees. They're there to milk the company cow for as long as possible, then ride off into the sunset with 8-9 figure bank accounts...smirking all the way.
