Any recent news on this? I know the official migration date for DEG to be absorbed by Business was 1/1/2020 and it looks like all the Webphone changes have already happened as well.

This is a sad thread! Field Ops Bus, with now DEG and ABW Wi-Fi is one of the few areas that is growing the business. Why? Focusing on the customer experience and changing the No culture to a Yes culture. No layoffs here, actually have added hundreds of surplussed techs and managers. Obviously this could change next year, but for now it’s a good chapter in a bad overall story. There’s still a few pockets in this company that aren’t too horrible, thankfully I’m in one of them for now. We welcome DEG and look to improve the customer experience as we have with Specials and ABFS. If successful we grow the business...at least the little blip that we contribute to.
WOW! You specials techs are Gods gift to the phone company. Also who do you think installed the equipment your circuits run off ? i'll give you the answer DEG. Everybody is replaceable in this company it's not rocket science, so get over yourselves. There are a lot of skilled techs in the DEG world that came from a group your probably not familiar with called FWG. They installed everything in the digital electronic world. So don't fault your fellow tech for having more seniority then you and maybe one day you'll get to leave when you chose. Hopefully the DEG techs you keep bashing will be kind and help you someday. In solidarity brothers
What’s sad is a lot of good abfs systems techs and specials techs are going to be bumped out of a job by DEG techs who don’t have basic computer skills. Customer service and retention will suffer , and then more attrition , and then more outsourcing and more layoffs etc. it’s a race to the bottom. We already got one DEG guy come over to our abfs crew, first thing he tells us is he’s never even punched down an rj-45 jack and doesn’t know how. He’s already telling us he can’t climb a ladder because of bad knees lol. He’s like 65 years old. ABFS and specials are doomed.
LMAO, that would be brilliant. DEG techs cant fix a rural SLC 96, let alone, do anything else. Too far gone.
Heard there going to target the headcount in TFS Specials Group before they blend in the higher seniority DEG Techs. Not looking good for the specials crew.
So far, no changes on the ground.
Deg techs mostly more senior than Busn serv. Nobody knows what's going to happen yet.
a cesspool of negligence DEG
Everything outlined in the APEX doc. Deg to tfs transition
Love these goof balls with crystal balls...it’s going to be better for specials...lol...then DEG ....another opinion.
This integration is going to be a lot better for Specials/ABFS than DEG in my opinion. It’s going to be a shocker for some of the DEG techs, managers, AM’s and DESS/DLEC folks. Business Services as a whole is highly focused on and driven by customer service and coming from C&E, DEG was driven mostly by internal metrics and could care less about the customer experience.
Yes we merged and so far nothing has changed in the DEG world....but it’s early. Heard the union negotiated for everything to stay the same for 6 months....after that, who knows what happens.
Isn't DEG construction and Business is part of TFS? How does that merger affect layoffs?
Like everything else, lack of communication.
