AT&T needs more investigative reporting on how the tax breaks are being spent with all the outsourcing & layoffs

What do you even mean by, "tax breaks are being spent"? It is not a tax break. They pay the rate all the other corporations pay. They aren't being given a break. They pay the tax they owe. The money you speak of is their normal revenue that has nothing to do with the government. What exactly would you like to investigate? The money you label 'tax break' isn't handled in a special pot.
And they were let go and told friends and family and those friends and families told their friends and families and so on and so on and so on.... Soon everyone had to have an Un-Carrier phone plan because no one thought it conscionable to support a company thats so sh** to the way they threaten their workers with the massive and repetitive axing . 7 million of them now and counting all flocking to the Un Carrier now, a halo effect has taken hold... its truly trendy now in the 18-> 55 market segment (friends and families) to support spending on ethical and socially responsible companies. Companies that... keep it on the continent and provide friends and families with stable good paying jobs and sparing them psychological drama
Unfortunately, our media is now owned by half a dozen giant corporations (including AT&T). They will continue spewing useless infotainment to the American sheeple.
Also unfortunate, our politicians are owned by their campaign sponsors and their lobbyists. Politicians aren't going to fight for the American worker if it threatens their campaign financing. And our maverick in the White House is only upset with AT&T because CNN said some 'not very nice' things about him. He doesn't seem quite so concerned about the workers of this company being laid off en masse.
Who do you want to investigate this? CNN??? AT&T owns them. You'll never get media involved.
And then they should investigate and report on every corporation in the US. Every one of them made some strategic decision on how to operate with tax cuts. AT&T has had plans for several years before the tax cut to reduce headcount. Everyone should feel lucky they got the $1000 bonus, However shareholders and folks who live in the C-Suite reap most of those rewards.
They can spend as they see fit. Even if a law was broken and a fine levied, a surplus would be issued to cover the cost of the fine.

A prosecutor won't investigate because there is no crime.
A media firm won't investigate because getting laid off doesn't make for good television.
And besides that, who just so happens to control an enormous media firm? Hollywood is a small town.
Tax break is not something only given to att to keep jobs. They need to increase sales to increase revenue else this lay-off will continue to maintain EPS.
Why? att is doing what every other company is doing ?
