Now that Authorized Retail will have AT&T Smartphone inventory as part of AROE and can overcome the obstacle of not having the capital to carry inventory of Smartphones and Tablets, I expect the next step will be turnover of existing AT&T owned stores to PRIME and MMS. How many RSC will be laid off and will managers get to apply for roles at the Authorized Retail locations? Will the unions strike once this becomes public? Just trying to figure out if I need to make a move in 2020 or 2021.

Prime employee here. I'm told the entire company will be converted to AROE by EOM March '20. Spring was acquired by Prime nearly a year ago btw.
Rebadging is just like leaving ATT for any other employer. You keep your vested retirement benefits, lose your employee discounts, and start accruing new retirement benefits with your new employer.
I too would like to know as I am in the same sinking boat at you. Should I just put in for retirement now to keep my benefits and not loose them ?
If or when they rebadge COR to AR, how does that affect someone who had met and exceeded the MR75? If one does not put in for retirement, will all benefits be lost? I am almost sure I am eligible for full or partial subsidy healthcare, for now at least. I am not part of management. Looking for honest answers and not a bunch of BS.
@2mjk, I heard the plan is to sell them off to the ARs. They'll rebadge as either Prime or Spring employees, so no severance or minimum notice are required.
Will the Level 1,2, or 3 stores close ? That's kinda a big number of employees they will let go. I wonder how much notice they will get ?
Someone said it correctly below. Most retail store will close 2020 thru 2021 using online order and start up of new phones. It was decided a few retail stores will survive in high volume large city locations.
AROE is the AT&T Residential Operations Enhancement. It takes RETAIL Stores and moves them to Authorized Retailer. It sends IHX and Prem Tech services to a third party contractor.
'Will the union strike?' Ha Ha Ha! Thanks for the laugh.
The CWA bent over backwards during contract negotiations last year. They didn't strike then and surely haven't grown any testicular fortitude since then.
The CWA is as close to useless as any pretend union could possibly be.
Enjoy is horrible. They don't show up or leave the package without anyone signing for if.
upgraded my last phone from the apple store and then got my sim card from the new carrier (good bye att) and plugged it in and then went to their web site and sim card activated and I am done.
I do get the stores though but I don't really see a huge need for them but I am sure there will some sort of need for them maybe in a reduced capacity.
Outsource, outsource, outsource.
Under current contracts, Union cannot strike as long as contract is in effect.
Have any of the retail people dealt with the ENJOY third party group yet?
ENJOY appears to be the third party contractor that will essentially be the IHX and prem techs of the future.
What is AROE? Does it affect us in the JVB org?
It’s going to take almost a year to rollout AROE according to the project leads. It won’t be until 2021 until the store turnovers begin. They said that giving AR billions of dollars of inventory has to start slow to ensure controls are in place. So keep doing your compliance training...LOL
