To be honest, I'm kind of surprised they haven't started already.

@jrsa where? I have never seen VZ lay off employees without notice. Contractors are a whole different story.
Verizon fired 400 employee last friday with same day termination
Good luck people. Hopefully this impacted would land in a better place.
that’s basically 23rd (24th india morning), followed by 24th US morning. That’s the tentative plans i have seen. S can change things. I heard He likes to change in last minute
As I said before, FTE reductions will be announced next week
Contractor VZW - got unexpected, same day, termination on 01/17/2020. Learned that others got terminated as well from all types of teams, DevOps, QA, Devs. Seems like VZW is switching over to management in US & workforce in India system. More terminations most likely coming, seems like they're doing them in batches.

Corporate Wide or by Department? Target?
Week of Jan 23rd. Off books by end of Q
A little bird tells me Thursday we will here something.
Most layoffs have a 60 day notification, so you won't see many departures til March.
They started. You just haven't realized. They will pick up mid-February in mass. Remember, there were leadership retiring and/or told to retire. Where do you think all of those direct reports will go? 1Q20 will be another bloodbath. It won't be VSP numbers but it will be noticeable.
Really? Your "surprised" they have not started yet? Its January 3rd. Leadership is still at their winter vacation homes. Layoffs will ramp up in February.
